Review: Teledyne Lecroy manufactures electronic test equipment. We purchased a 600MHz WaveSurfer MSO Xs-B oscilloscope based on the published specifications and the highly detailed photographs shown on the LeCroy's website, in their literature and in all of the published manuals and brochures. The one feature which we found to be very useful which they showed in all of their photographs is actually not included in the oscilloscope. This feature called Auto Grid/Multi Grid allows the oscilloscope to add grids to the display as the operator adds waveforms so that each waveform is contained within its own grid. All of the photographs of this particular oscilloscope show this very nice display which is has 4 different grids and a multitude of analog and digital waveforms. When we purchased our scope and tried to replicate the photograph, we couldn't get our scope to do the same thing. We contacted support last year who then forwarded our issue to [redacted], LeCroy's Product Marketing Manager. In his reply he stated that the WaveSurfer line of oscilloscopes aren't able to display the Auto Grid/Multi Grid feature and that LeCroy photoshopped the advertising photographs and literature. We were extremely upset and Mr. [redacted] told us that he was sorry and that he would generate new photographs and literature since this was deceptive advertising and amounts to a bait and switch campaign. At the time we let the issue go. We recently had cause to visit the Teledyne Lecroy website and saw that even though over a year had passed, nothing had been done about it. We contacted Mr. [redacted] again who od course apologised again. We are still extremely upset that we made a purchase based on their advertising and they not only didn't deliver the product, but they admitted that their campaign is deceptive. We very much need this feature that we were told was included in our product and is still shown as a valid feature in all advertising.This oscilloscope has a list price of $16,699.98Desired Settlement: We desire either a software patch to enable this feature in our scope or a replacement by a comparable scope which includes this feature.
