Review: Long story shortened, this dealer failed to disclose contract altering information at the time of signing the contract. I did not know about a tracking system being installed or the ACH transfer of funds required on a weekly basis, until after I signed the contract. The contract was never finalized by the financing agency. Also, I had a vehicle that was going to be traded in. This vehicle still has a loan balance; which is still under my name because the financing has not gone through. The dealer is refusing to return my former vehicle because they said they did work on the vehicle. However, any work that was done was unauthorized as the deal was not yet finalized and the trade-in is still my vehicle until the deal is finalized and the vehicle being purchased is not yet my vehicle until the financing is finalized, etc...the dealer is telling me that I must pay the fees they've incurred because I am in breach of the contract. Rhetorical question: Aren't they in breach of the law if they are doing unauthorized work on a vehicle that is not yet theirs? They won't even produce receipts of the alleged work that was done upon request. The owner said they were on site, but the manager said he didn't have the receipts...

The reason for the overall issue is related to the install of a GPS tracking device. While I had no issue with the tracking device being installed, I did have an issue with who would be installing the device. The vehicle of concern was is a Toyota Prius Hybrid; which is a very specialized car that requires specialized knowledge due to the electrical system that is essentially one large computer. I requested that the car be taken to Toyota for installation and that the tracking system be a Toyota approved device. None of this happened - they insisted on using a 3rd party traking device and the mechanic they used stated to me (when asked if he had ever worked on a Prius or even a Hybrid) that he had never worked on a system so complex, that he had never worked on a Prius alarm system and that he wasn't sure of what he was doing. The entire dashboard was removed with the mother board exposed and wires disconnected and completely visible.

I've asked for them to return my vehicle and for us to part ways to no avail.Desired Settlement: I just want my Ford Escape back in the condition it was received with no damage and I do not believe that I am liable for any expenses that they incurred due to them altering the vehicle before the financing deal was finalized.

They have the Toyota Prius on their lot. Neither of the vehicles are in my possession; which is a major problem for me - no car to get to work, etc...
