Tenley's Auto Center, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: My vehicle failed the state of wisconsin vehicle emission test on 2/28/14 due to a diagnostic trouble code of input/turbine speed sensor circuit range/performance code and a visual MIL light check failure. Also the car would jerk when coming out of a stopped position. We then took our vehicle to Teneley Auto to have a inspection to get a cost of repair so our vehicle could pass the emission test. On 3/4/14, I was charged $27.30 for the installation of an input speed sensor, and the vehicle was rejected at the emission testing site. On 3/12/14, I returned to Tenley's to have a turbine speed sensor installed and was charged $105.28, and the turbine speed sensor was not installed. He stated, "I'm not going to charge you $534.00 to install a sensor that will not work and you still are going to have the same problem". The mechanic at the shop ([redacted]) inspected the vehicle and told us that after an through inspection of the vehicle, the sensor was not the problem and the vehicle required a new tranmission at the cost of 1900.00. The receipt says "locate failure has input shaft & senor stator shaft bearing or link failure - bad chain chatter clutch engage - pull codes - needs trans rebuild not just sensor - sensor install will not complete or repair shift issue - bad bearing 12". We told him that we would call the shop back with a date to have the rebuilt transmission installed due to biweekly pay date. . We called and scheduled an appointment to drop the vehicle off and have the transmission rebuild on 3/24/14, ([redacted] had already informed us that it would take about 3 days to complete the work). I had to rent a car due to I'm a home health nurse and need a vehicle to see my patients. I rented the car on 3/21/14 to 3/28/14 in the amount of $182.42 I picked my vehicle (Monte Carlo) up on Saturday, March 29, 2014 and paid a total of $1,910.26 with the tax. I, telephoned Tenley Auto on 4/3/14 to inform [redacted] that my vehicle was still not shifting properly and that it should not be doing this since it has a new transmission. I had to schedule another appointment which was four days away to have my vehicle even looked at again. On 4/7/14, I took my vehicle to Tenley Auto for repair and it remained in the shop until 4/8/14. [redacted] called and left a voice messages stating, "problem solved new trainny (transmission) installed come pick up your vehicle test drive it for a couple hundred miles let me know how it runs". On 4/8/14 we picked up the vehicle and drove to the emission site and the test was rejected at the emission testing and we had to pay for $8.00 for a temporary license plate. On 4/11/14, I telephone Tenley Auto and told, "[redacted]" that the vehicle was still not shifting correctly and he said bring it in and I left my vehicle at Tenley's. He ([redacted]) called on the 4/12/14 and said the car was ready. We drove up to Tenley to pick up the car, [redacted] got in the drivers seat, my finance was in the passenger seat and I got into the back. [redacted] drove up capital drive at about 40mph trying to show up that the vehicle was shifting ok. I told him that the problem was noticed when the car was at a complete stop and then when you pull off it would jerk and we should not be even having this problem since a new transmission was installed. The car jerk again at 100th and capital drive and we returned the vehicle to Tenley Auto, this was on 4/12/14. I received a call from "Steve on 4/25/14 stating that our vehicle was at a Transmission Speciality Shop and when they get in touch with them (Tenely) they will get in touch with me. I telephoned, Tenley on 4/28/14 and spoke to [redacted], who said he has two shops looking at it's just a matter of which one is going to actually fix my vehicle. Today is 4/30/14 and I have been getting the run around about my vehicle since 4/12 which is still at a shop that Tenley Auto has taken it to. I have telephoned Tenley multiple times and they keep saying that they are at the mercy of another shop. During this time I have had to rent a vehicle in order to work due to Tenley Auto not properly repairing my vehicle. Which is unnecssary if my vehicle was fix correctly the first two times. According to Tenley this now would be a THIRD transmission that is being installed in a month's time.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the amount of my car rental for the week of 4/17/14 to present due to lack of communication and not expediting the repair of my vehicle and not repairing correctly.
