Ms. [redacted] has periodontal disease which does not allow for a "regular cleaning". We are unable to perform treatment...
that is not within the standard of care we are obligated to uphold through our governed license. I understand it's frustrating to not receive the care patients are asking for, however, our responsibility as health care professionals are to treat a disease rather that what the patient is requesting. This would be the same as asking for a band aid for a broken arm. It would be a lack of professional integrity and malpractice to do so. We will not be performing the services Ms. [redacted] is requesting just because she can afford the care.
