Terkanian Plumbing and Heating

Complaint07/2013, verbal quote on site for repairs for sink pump & suggested we replace the water heater. We agreed to a price and 09/2013 project time.Contact Terkanian mid Sept and he agreed to come the following week. Never showed. I called and no response. No response in Oct/Nov/Dec. The rebate for the water heater has expired - lost [redacted] and a tax break of [redacted] Our sink pump is still broken. We are senior citizens, husband is recovering from a stroke and I a knee replacement. We have spent several years adjusting issues to make our senior years more ADA compliant and trying to reduce expenses - by agreeing to putting in a better, smaller water heater that [redacted] Terkanian suggested. Terkanian has done wonderful work for us in the past and always on a verbal contracted agreement and price. We had no reason to doubt he would not do so again. We have never had a disagreement with him even when things became crazy. We respected his suggestions, followed his suggestions and appreciated his courtesy and work ethic. He told us about the rebate program and we went online to see what was involved. Later that same day we called him and left a voicemail indicating that the water heater be a 60 gallon (as discussed) and not a ** product. We talked to him in mid September wanting a date for the project which he said would be 'next week'. Next week came and went and it did not happen. He did not answer any of our calls or respond to repeated voice mails left wondering what was up. We have treated him like the professional we thought he was. We still don't have this work done. We are considering legal action as he made a verbal contract with us in July 2013 and failed to performed as he promised. Don't want to take this to court but senior citizens need to be protected. We don't want another senior citizen to face this situation.Desired SettlementWe want the work completed at the July 2013 contracted price (between [redacted] and [redacted] per [redacted]) and at his expense. He broke a verbal contract and provided no explanation. When he was estimating the job here in July, we asked if this was too small a job. He said it would be half a day and he would combine it with the other two Charlton jobs he had quoted that morning. Since the Federal rebate program has expired we are out [redacted] and the [redacted] tax credit. We request the work be done at his expense.Business Response I [redacted] terkanian was just to busy to get to the job. I never wrote an actual contract with them only a verbal agreement. They can still get the water heater rebate for the same amount this entire year also through their energy carrier. I will call them and apologize for not returning their calls.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Dear [redacted], It is 02/15/14 and still no call. Since ou indicate the reate is still available, and we know your contracted price, please do the work you agreed to do in July. You do excellent work. We have used you for 5 years now and do not want to go to another plumber. Since we are retired we are available when your schedule is open. We have been waiting for your call since September to complete this project. Thank you
