Upon initial estimate process and figuring out what Mr [redacted] needed to heat his approximately year old trailer that is totally uninsulated and with single pane windows that are just as old, we had to adjust the size of the heat strip that would be needed due to the lack of power that he had available at this trailer and this was stated to him and his father as well as his grandparentshe had a amp breaker box being fed with an amp service box outsidewe installed a packege heat pump with electric heat strip auxiliary heatwe also installed an intelligent thermostat that would not kick both heat sources on at the same time due to the power needed to do thisThis thermostat is programmable to do this either way depending on how we program itI have been out there numerous times to explain and readjust the thermostat after he had the power feed fixed by an electrician only to find that thespace heaters and all the lights on in the trailer as well as the tv when no one was at home and the thermostat set at 71.when I went there with his grandfather as well as his grandmother I informed them that he would have to plastic the windows and start turning things off when they are gone as this trailer has an electric water heater and stove alsoMr [redacted] states that I did not return calls and that is not true , I do not conduct my business like that which is why we are a reputable company that doesn't leave customers on their own after installationI made numerous trips out there to adjust his thermostat and check his electric after the electrician was there and to reset his system, the last time he called he stated that another company he called found one of the heat strips were bad, he never called me for this because I answer my own phones, so if he would of called us to check this out which was probably caused by lack of power causing the voltage to drop and damaged the strip this is covered under warranty it would of been taken care of at no chargeI cannot control the laws of physics and the trailer he lives in which is very very old and uninsulated with windows that are in very bad shape will continue to lose heat in the winter , which this past winter was very cold and the heat loss in his trailer was immenseThere is not a unit on the planet which would heat this trailer and not cost more than another trailer of this size which was insulated and windows that were not letting heat out at this enormous rate in which his windows doHe will find out this winter if he does nothing to rectify this problem he will see similar bills if the winter is as cold as it was last winterelectric heat pumps with electric backup heat are expensive to run when it gets down at the zero degree mark as resistance coil heat is expensive , that is why the heat pump is set to come on firstThe only way Mr [redacted] can lower his bills is to insulate his trailer and fix or plastic up the windows and turn some things off when they are not home instead of complaining about his bill and when we get there space heaters and the tv and all the lights are on in the house when no one is at homeThe unit that was installed is a good unit and will provide proper heating if Mr [redacted] will do what we have advised him to do from the very start
