On Sunday [redacted] @4:52pm a message was left on our answering machine from [redacted] asking that a Manager...

contact her at work on Monday [redacted]th. The message was received at noon on Monday the **th and at that time there was no management available to contact her as they were out of office.
Her message said that she received on [redacted]th, 4.5 cubic yards of triple mix soil that had some small weeds (about an inch in size). She purchased it for her vegetable garden.
Quoted from Ms. [redacted] "all soil has some weeds it will be fine. As they grow I will pick them out because it wasn't horrible at the time. Now 6 weeks later it is an infestation! It is useless to me and we need to get rid of it. An analogy is taking a cup each of salt and pepper, mixing together and trying to pick out the pepper. "
After receiving the message we looked for a delivery slip as we thought it was a delivered product. As we found out on [redacted]th on three different occasions the triple mix soil was picked up here at our garden center [redacted] (Inv #'s are [redacted] 1.5 cubic yards at around 9:11; # [redacted] 1.5 cubic yards around 12:00 and # [redacted] 1.5 cubic yards around 2:30).
The soil was purchased here and therefore was viewed before purchased. If there is an issue with any of the products that we sell/distribute, complaints need to be within a reasonable amount of time to be addressed; Not 6 weeks later. It is an organic product that has manure in it and the occurance of weeds are likely to appear.
[redacted] From her first message we were waiting for Management to address the issue but they were not available that week. We would have gladly addressed this situation even within a week of purchase.

Terra Nova stated "on Monday the **th and at that time there was no management available to contact her as they were out of office." So why did a manager not call me on Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday or Friday, etc. They said management was not in that whole week - doesn't a company usually get a stand in for management when the manager is out of the office for an extended period of time (i.e. a week)? It's not acceptable that no one called me back after the 1st or 2nd phone call. My husband picked up the soil - so yes it was his responsibility to approve of it. As I saw it once he arrived home, I did think AT THE TIME, how bad could it be and I can't expect a soil to be 100% weed free. One cannot know the extent of the weeds seedlings until the grow or would they be little tiny weeds or big weeds with a huge root system. I spent a total of 15 hours - HOURS - and I'm not exaggerating - to shovel out the weeds. Getting rid of at least 1 1/2 yards of soil in the process. As Terra Nova can't even call me back and won't even apologize for my experience, I recognize that Terra Nova is not going to resolve my complaint. There is no reason for me to believe that they are going to do anything about my complaint and thus I expect nothing further from them. [redacted] I will be vigilant in inspecting soil from here on, but unless one goes through a load with a shovel, one cannot know the extent of the amount of weed seedling in it. I certainly cannot ask a company to shovel in small amounts of soil into my trailer in order for me to be satisfied.

Terra Nova Landscaping sell hundreds of cubic yards of triplemix in a season; this was the only complaint of weeds we received. We have contacted the manufacturer and unfortunately there is nothing to be done as this was the only complaint of weeds in the soil this season and it was not brought to our attention in a reasonable amount of time for us to resolve this matter.
