Terry Wood Appraisals Reviews (1)

Where to start? After finding out that we had our first child on the way, my wife and I decided to buy our first home and our realtors told us that they suggest that we go with Homeside FinancialNot knowing anything at the time about the process (again, we were first time home buyers) we didn't think to research in to any other lenders
When we first started with Homesidewe met with our loan officer, he seemed to be a nice guyWe went over all of the information necessary, were told what information we needed and signed loads of paperwork...so far, so goodThen the loan officer tells us that we are going to be passed off to his "team" for the remainder of the process and that they would provide us with the best possible service available
So, we started to talk to the junior loan officerRight off the bat, he assured us that he had been doing this for four years and that it should be a breezeDuring the process, my father-in-law decided to gift us some moneyWe asked the junior loan officer what we needed for this, he sent a file over for a gift letterWe filled it out, and told him we were going to send it back in the morning when we had the chance, along with a front and back image of the check, all of the information he said that was needed for this processThen he asked where my father-in-laws statement was that showed the check leaving, where our statement was that shows the check in our account, things that should have been mentioned in the first place when we asked in the first place! Along with all of this, we had been told that we wouldn't need new pay stubs for my wife (she was on maternity leave) and that a letter from her employer would be sufficientFirst off, my wife's employer replied to their email, asking some questions about what was needed in this letter, he never got a response from the teamEvery time I asked if there was anything else that was needed or if I had any questions, they also would go unansweredThe worst part is, it wasn't just an email to one person that was going unanswered, it was emails being sent to the team as a wholeThis on top of not getting phone calls on the day that we were told they would call, was just maddening
Then, as it came close to closing time (we closed almost a month later by the way) they all of a sudden were asking questions about new pay stubs for my wife; the same pay stubs that we had been told that we weren't going to needWhen we had initially talked about them, we had informed the loan officer that they weren't showing the full hours that our loan was based off of because of my wife's maternity leave and because of all of her doctors appointmentsWe were told that it'll be fineSo, they were asking for the pay stubs, a week or so from closingMy wife and I had actually had a discussion about her going back a month earlier, but decided it wouldn't be needed because of the fact that we were told that we didn't need any new pay stubsWe would have closed on time if we had made a different decision and had we been properly informed
Somewhere during the pay stub debacle, we were talking about the home appraisalThe junior loan officer had called to set it up and told me that it would be $I asked him multiple ways if this was coming out of the initial cash to close that we were told to have readyHe answered multiple times, yesFirst issue with this situation, it was $Second issue, it was not part of the cash to closeThird issue, it was right before our second closing date, so we pushed back againAfter this I told him that it was frustrating that almost all of these issues could have been solved had they informed us of the issue with the pay stubs in the first placeHe tried turning the blame on me and told me that he would no longer be communicating with me and that the loan officer would take it from thereThis is where the worst part comes inThat day, I sent an email to the loan officer to voice my concerns and he assured me that he would call the next dayThe next day, I leave work, try to call, voicemailget home a half hour later, try to call, voicemailDinner is ready, try to call, voicemailFinished eating, try to call, VOICEMAILAfter this, he sends a text saying he's in a meeting and he will call shortlyHe calls at 9PM
So now, I have the loan officer on the phone and we start calmly talking about everything and I inform him of the issue with the appraisalHe assures me that no one on his team would make this mistakeEverI told him that he, in fact, did tell me thatHe told me I was wrongSo, now I am a liar...real professionalThe next day, the junior loan officer calls me to inform me of something and I decide to bite the bullet and apologize for the way I had responded before and he told me "No, you weren't even bad, most people tell me to go f* myself." Most people? We closed shortly after and it couldn't have been sooner
