Review: Sod installed on 6-6-2013 started dying. Called on June 24th with now response. Did not see Mr [redacted] until July 17. Sod was continually wet.

On 5/14/2013 I gave [redacted] a $500 deposit to repair existing sprinkler system and add sprinklers as needed and sod my back yard. This was completed on 6/6/13 and paid in full the total amount was $4,500.00 and I have not grass. When I called he said there was nothing he could do about it because I had turned off the water for 1 day so I could mow. Even then it was so wet and after mowing it began to die, I left it at 3 inches. It was after this that it began to die. My timer was set to water 3 times a day for 19 minutes each. In talking to a master gardener at [redacted] in Auburn they told me it has been overwatered. Mr. [redacted] informed me there was nothing he could do for me. It was then that I had my future son-in-law contact him with no result. He did finally contact me and inform me that he would resod for the amount of $1800.00 which he had charged $1998.00 the first time. Needless to say I was not going to throw more money away. He was paid for his job and his product but did not stand behind it or offer to assist in making it right. I also question the fact that 3 pallets of sod were delivered and 1/2 of the last pallet was left and taken by Mr [redacted]. Desired Settlement: Since I am a senior living alone I feel that in reviewing my invoice I now question some of his charges and do not want the same thing to happen to other people who hire someone in good faith and then they do not stand behind their workmanship.
