I purchased a course on 1/18/2020 at 8:42pm from LSATMAX for their premium course. And want to request a refund on 1/25/2020 at 2:02 PM. They refuse.
I purchased a course on 1/18/2020 at 8:42pm from LSATMAX for their premium course. And want to request a refund on 1/25/2020 at 2:02 PM. They refuse to give me the refund stating it is outside of 7 days which is their refund policy. But I believe 1/25 is the 7th day and they didn't mention in there policy saying the day of purchase is first day. Their representative called ***. I consulted him about the refund policy on 1/18 before I purchase the course, and he simply told me the refund policy is 7 days.

Desired Outcome

I want the refund since I believe I request the refund compliant to the refund policy

TestMax Response • Feb 25, 2020

spoke directly with our CEO (***) in regards to the request for a refund. She did not qualify for the 7 day satisfaction guarantee and was informed so multiple times during the in-app chat (reasong for denial: her request came outside of the window).

*** did attempt to ask how he could support her within the course and also mentioned that she could look into qualifying for the Higher Score guarantee (different qualifications but a potential). She did not really have interest in learning more about either.

*** additionally offered to call *** to reiterate the refund policy and focus the energy on using the course to move forward with the ultimate goal of preparing for the LSAT. She did not wish to receive a call.

I would like to mention that we additionally offer a FREE 7 day trial to anyone who wishes to utilize the course before they purchase. This, on top of the 7 day satisfaction guarantee, effectively provides the opportunity for 14 days of access to determine whether it is a good fit (courses can be cancelled via phone, chat or email through our 24 hour support team).

We cannot make exceptions to our stated policies which are expressly laid out on our website. We understand this is not the outcome *** hoped for and remain ready to help them move through the course with great success.

I signed up for Bar Prep course on 12/24. It's been two weeks and the printed materials have not arrived.
On 12/24 I purchased the California Bar Prep course from Bar Max Test Masters and was promised to receive the critical outlines that are printed materials but they have not come. Each week I am told TWICE that they will be sent this week. Nothing has arrived. Not even the email with the tracking numbers the exam is about 45 days away.

Desired Outcome

I want the books sent immediately so I can really begin my studying for the Bar

Thomas purchased during on Christmas Eve and all orders were not to be shipped out until after the New Year as entirely new updated outlines were being printed. The books are NOT necessary to both begin and complete the course (everything is contained in the digital course with books serving as accompaniments). Thomas did in fact receive his books nearly two weeks before writing this review as well.

TestMax Inc is refusing to refund money for a product I never used
On May 15th, 2019, I purchased a Bar Review Course from TestMax Inc. I was charged $1,849.98 for the course I purchased although I was supposed to pay *** for the package. When I realized I had been overcharged for the package, I called TestMax the next day and asked them to refund the difference in the amount and I was told they would refund the difference of *** to my account and they refunded the *** to my account.

I tried to access my course on Friday, 5/17/19 and I was not able to because the course was locked and when I tried to unlock it, the download failed and it kept giving me the option of repurchasing the course all over again although I had already paid for the course. I tried calling TextMax immediately several times on Friday, 5:27/19 but I was not able to get anybody on the phone to help me and I kept calling all weekend and still couldn't reach anybody to help me access my course.

I decided to send an email and chat messages through the support link and I did not receive a reply till Wednesday, 5/22/19 from one of the support team members, *** who sent me some articles to read to unlock my course. I followed the instructions in the article and I was still not able to unlock my course and access it. I reached out to *** and asked her to help me since I had followed the instructions over and over again and I still couldn't unlock my course. *** kept redirecting me to the same articles.

I have all the emails and chats between Lauren and myself. This was a very frustrating experience because I had purchased the course and yet I couldn't unlock my course. My brother ***, who is a system's administrator had to intervene because I vented all my frustrations to him. *** was able to chat with another support team member, *** on Thursday, 5/23/19, who finally took my user-id and password from *** to troubleshoot the problem from his end. *** realized I had purchased the wrong package and that was why I was being redirected to repurchase the right course. I had purchased the UBE course which was meant for *** and other states instead of the MBE course which is the Multistate material. I am taking the *** Bar exam. This is quite frustrating because in my correspondence with *** I kept telling her I am in *** and kept asking her what course do I need to purchase? She reported back and told me I have access to both UBE and MBE and that I should change my state to either *** or *** and I will be able to access the course. But I told her I live in *** and I am taking the exams in *** I was just wondering if she doesn't know their product or what customers need to actually purchase.

*** reset my preferences and changed my course to the MBE course. It was after this that I was able to access the course on Thursday, 5/23/19. The next issue now was to get a refund of *** since I purchased the wrong course, the UBE course for *** instead of the MBE course that cost *** I reached out and called TextMax several times, emailed and sent chats through the chat link requesting a refund and didn't get any response till 5/24/19, when ***, one of the support team members referenced earlier in this email sent an email that I couldn't receive a refund since I was outside the 7 day satisfaction guarantee period. This was a very infuriating and ridiculous response since I had not been able to access my course and let alone be satisfied with a product I had not used.

I decided to file this claim to get my money back. I should rather be compensated by TextMax for being unprofessional in handling this issue and not rather be ripped off after I had paid for a product I could not use. Furthermore, the Bar exam Is just a few weeks away and I still haven't had the chance to review the materials and even have the peace of mind to study for the exam.

Desired Outcome

I need TestMax Inc to refund *** which is the difference between what I paid *** instead of what I should have paid which is

A few points to issue regarding ***'s submission to the Revdex.com:
(1) *** purchased two courses when she self-enrolled through our online portal. We happened to catch that error and held her items for shipment until we clarified with her. It seemed unusual for someone to purchase the California Baby Bar and the UBE course at the same time. Indeed, it was an error on ***'s part and we immediately refunded the *** (Baby Bar CA course) to her account.
(2) In reviewing her chats, it seems as though *** additionally purchased the wrong course as Texas is not slated to adopt the UBE model until February 2021. She had issues logging into her account because (when she selected her state as Texas) the program, which did what it is set up to do, would not allow her access to a UBE module in conjunction with Texas as the state.
(3) She currently has access to the MBE course as noted (the correct course for her needs; someone looking to practice law in Texas), and has, in fact, also been refunded the

Company violates advertising rules by not posting amount of partial refund anywhere on their website. They keep over 30% and do not tell customers.
I signed up for TestMax, Inc. Bar Exam Reviewâ?? for a California course. They have a 7-day money back guarantee on their website. The guarantee says it may be a partial refund - okay, that's fine. But they don't tell you anywhere what the refund is - violating truth-in-advertising rules. What makes it even worse is that this company KNOWS what the amount will be and what they don't tell you is that they withhold over 30 PERCENT - in other words, over $300 for a $*** Bar course. Not only that, they say the fees are for licensing may be true, but nowhere do they even give a possible range of what the refund withholding will be. If the fees are for licensing, then they know what the partial refund will be, yet they intentionally withhold that information because they keep over $300 and do not give that information anywhere up front. This company has several complaints against it on Facebook and other social media platforms and they are being sneaky and untruthful about customer funds. Please look into this practice.

Desired Outcome

I would not only like a refund of the funds, I would also like them to correct this issue on their website, but updating it for the amount of partial refund giving or at the VERY least, providing a range for the amount of money they withhold so that other customers do not have to go through what I did.

From: TestMax, Inc. Re: Complaint #*** Date: February 7, 2019 Consumer: ***, ***@nowakowskilaw.com, ***

Response from TestMax,Inc.: In response to the complaint dated May 2, 2018, we clearly state the refund policy for the 7-Day Money Back Guarantee on our website in the following manner:

We are 100% convinced you will be happy with your LSATMax course. If you are not, please notify us within 7 days of your enrollment and request a refund. Students will receive a refund of the course fee, excluding LSAC licensing fees, as well as any shipping, handling, and/or processing fees. These amounts, if any, will be provided upon refund request. For App Store purchases, the refund will exclude the 30% fee that is kept by Apple. For iPad bundles, the refund will exclude the amount paid to Apple, since we are unable to return it. The reason why we do not list pricing on the amount of returns is simply because it varies from student to student based on the products purchased, shipping rates, and the associated licensing and/or app fees incurred. There is no intent to withhold this information at all. We are always reachable by phone to discuss these matters and to answer any questions.

Business owner refused to refund payment when guarantee for a higher score not met.
I was approached by TestMax Inc. sales team after downloading their application on my iPhone to purchase the premium package. I was assured that if my score did not increase from my baseline, I would receive a refund. "Higher Score Guarantee" is advertised on their website. I purchased the premium package for exactly this reason. I took my first practice exam under simulated conditions. This could not be supervised by members of their team, because the application is a web application. I did however input all of my answers into their application in very early april. I used all of their materials exclusively for my test preparation.

I was having trouble with the material and reached out several times for help to the service. In one of my emails, I explicitly stated that my score on the original diagnostic test was a 167, months before my test.

On the actual exam, I received a 163, a four point decrease from the score on my diagnostic exam, the owner of the business refused to issue a refund, saying that he would need more formal evidence of my baseline score, and that my inputting my answers for the diagnostic test into his own analytics application months prior was not sufficient evidence of a score decrease.

he stated that I would have needed to take the exam under certified simulated test conditions in order to qualify for a refund as the application and course is online only, this condition is an impossible condition to fulfill, as there is absolutely no in person contact with any member of TestMax Staff. Nor was that condition ever made clear.

Desired Outcome

I would simply like my money back based on the guarantee the company advertised.

From: TestMax, Inc. Re: Complaint #*** Date: February 7, 2019 Consumer: ***, ***@gmail.com, ***

Response from TestMax,Inc.: In response to the complaint dated July 7, 2017, we note that we did deal directly with the consumer in regards to this matter. She could not provide us evidence of her baseline score using certified scoring conditions and that did pose an issue for us issuing a refund under the "Higher Score Guarantee." However, out of good faith, we offered to extend her services to the next year which she gladly accepted. She not only continued to use our products but is now in Law School.
