We run a "New Patient Special" that shows "Free Exam and X-rays." The sign is to small to include all the details of the promotion The add has been running for most of the years that I have been in this practice With all patients, as they call/come in, they are told that the for the "New Patient Deal" they cover the Cleaning and Fluoride and the Exam and X-rays are Free We also tell them what they save They pay $(cleaning and fluoride) and Save $(exam and initial x-rays) We also go on to explain that the big Panoramic x-ray is not covered and only the bitewings and the initial Periapical x-rays If they need more x-rays (say a broken individual tooth) there is an additional fee Or if they need a deeper cleaning then it is more than the $ This is like the deal of "Buy tires and get the forth Free." But in her case she wants all the tires for free Or in our case thinking that entire appointment should be Free She is changing her verbiage on the letter she sent us and in the complaint she submitted Stating that we charged her $for a claimed "Free appointment." Even in her letter it states the sign says "Free Exam and X-rays" and that is exactly what she received But you don't get that deal unless you pay for the Cleaning We even have patients that just pay for the cleaning and refuse the fluoride That is okay with me but they HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CLEANING That is the dealI was right next to the Assistant and the Hygienist as they reminded her of the deal Most people would have just understood that there was a miss-understanding and made the adjustment But all she wanted to do was argue and say that it was free She just left the appointment without paying Later my office manager called and discussed again the terms to the special Describing that it is used to allow patients to come in and get to know our staff (of which she enjoyed) But we can not do it for free We have to cover costs for staff, sterilization, and supplies This is the best deal around She did Get $free (Which is the "Free Exam and X-rays" as on the sign) After listening to the office manager she did pay the $ That day we did send a card with an offer of $off her next treatment for the confusion She refused this and sent it back with her letter Her letter shows her detailed evaluation of our sign We had never had an issue with the sign until the day after her letter was received Then it was vandalized I called "asking" if she had vandalized our sign She said no I let it go at that I did report it to the police but never "accused" her or even mention her name So no "accusing" was ever done on our part She currently has received a $refund Due to her poor behavior and rude behavior to our staff she has been dismissed from our practice This is exceptionally fair as she did receive the services of cleaning and fluoride Our "New Patient Deal" is a very generous offer As I said I heard three different people explain the "new patient deal" to her and she just won't let go of the "free" portion We have been exceptionally fair to her But this is very disappointing in how she is responding There is no need for her complaint and how rude she has been to our entire staff

We run a "New Patient Special" that shows "Free Exam and X-rays."  The sign is to small to include all the details of the promotion.  The add has been running for most of the 3 years that I have been in this practice.
With all patients, as they call/come in, they are told that the...

for the "New Patient Deal" they cover the Cleaning and Fluoride and the Exam and X-rays are Free.  We also tell them what they save.  They pay $121 (normal cleaning and fluoride) and Save $169 (exam and initial x-rays).  We also go on to explain that the big Panoramic x-ray is not covered and only the 4 bitewings and the 2 initial Periapical x-rays.  If they need more x-rays (say a broken individual tooth) there is an additional fee.  Or if they need a deeper cleaning then it is more than the $121.  This is like the deal of "Buy 3 tires and get the forth Free."  But in her case she wants all the tires for free.  Or in our case thinking that entire appointment should be Free.  She is changing her verbiage on the letter she sent us and in the complaint she submitted.  Stating that we charged her $121 for a claimed "Free appointment."  Even in her letter it states the sign says "Free Exam and X-rays" and that is exactly what she received.  But you don't get that deal unless you pay for the Cleaning.  We even have patients that just pay for the cleaning and refuse the fluoride.  That is okay with me but they HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CLEANING.  That is the deal. I was right next to the Assistant and the Hygienist as they reminded her of the deal.  Most people would have just understood that there was a miss-understanding and made the adjustment.  But all she wanted to do was argue and say that it was free.  She just left the appointment without paying.
Later my office manager called and discussed again the terms to the special.  Describing that it is used to allow patients to come in and get to know our staff (of which she enjoyed).  But we can not do it for free.  We have to cover costs for staff, sterilization, and supplies.  This is the best deal around.  She did Get $169.00 free (Which is the "Free Exam and X-rays" as on the sign).  After listening to the office manager she did pay the $121.  That day we did send a card with an offer of $25 off her next treatment for the confusion.  She refused this and sent it back with her letter.
Her letter shows her detailed evaluation of our sign.  We had never had an issue with the sign until the day after her letter was received.   Then it was vandalized.  I called "asking" if she had vandalized our sign.  She said no.  I let it go at that.  I did report it to the police but never "accused" her or even mention her name.  So no "accusing" was ever done on our part.
She currently has received a $61 refund.  Due to her poor behavior and rude behavior to our staff she has been dismissed from our practice.  This is exceptionally fair as she did receive the services of cleaning and fluoride.
Our "New Patient Deal" is a very generous offer.    As I said I heard three different people explain the "new patient deal" to her and she just won't let go of the "free" portion.  We have been exceptionally fair to her.  But this is very disappointing in how she is responding.  There is no need for her complaint and how rude she has been to our entire staff.
