Freestar. My name is Lynn D[redacted] and I am the Service Manager here at Best Ford, Inc. Mr. [redacted] came into the service department with 2 concerns. The check engine light was on and the second was for his brake lights were intermittently not working.
We found that the check engine light was on because the upper intake was leaking or sucking air. This is due to the manifold being plastic. It will expand and contract as it heats up and cools down. Mr. [redacted] was informed that it would be a $90.00 charge per each concern and he understood and agreed to the charge. I have included a copy of the service ticket so that you may read it and see that the brake light issue was intermittent. Considering it is intermittent and works on occasion, the switch will still need to be replaced and there will be no refund of the diagnosis fee.
