I have attached a copy of the customers Audit History with the read datesWe strive to read 28-day cyclesDue to Holidays and weather, doesn't always happenIf the bill proves to be a hardship, the customer is welcome to call and we can give a minimum payment amount for that month. We have read meters in that community for March, and the customers bill will go out on March 16, The read period was from 1-26-to 02-23-15, day cycle, used cu ftFebruary was much warmer than January, excluding the last weekThe last week of February and the current cold temperatures fro March will be on the billing that goes out in AprilIf the customer does not want another bill such as January, they should not be using their furnaceAs I have already suggested, read the meter every hours during use of the furnace, they will see they are using itThere is nothing else I can do for the customer, there are no notes they called to question their bill, all this could have been conveyed to them , had they called

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because: this company has a trend to extended the day billing period during the cold weather. 9/23/14-10/20/starts at days Gas used 30010/20/14-11/24/ days 1,10011/24/14-12/22/ days 1,00012/22/14-01/26/ days 3,000during the cold periods during day no one home Heat VERY low at night about hours on then turned down to while asleepA sq ft home one story Brand new water heater my consumption of heat dies NOT justify usage from up to 3,As you can see there are too many variables in the meter readings.

Texas Community Propane is not taking advantage of anyone, nor is their any price gouging going on. Customers receive bills for the gas they have consumed. Meters are read every month and we encourage customers to read their own meters when we are experiencing cold weather, so they can see...

for themselves how much gas is consumed when the furnace is on. January bills had 35 day cycles due to having to read on an earlier date in December of 2014. Their normal read date would have fallen on Christmas day, so it was moved up to 12-22-14 and normal read date in Jan was 01-26-15. This period had 5 extra days and the extreme cold temperatures during January made everyone consume more energy - whether it be gas or electricity. January 1 to January 20, every night was in the 30's and 20's, there was a great deal of gas consumed due to the furnaces running to keep homes at their desired set temperatures. The Texas Railroad Commission has regulated gas prices since September 2013, we are within the legal maximum that can be charged. Oil prices have kept propane low this winter and prices change every month. Pricing is obtained from The Texas Railroad Commission web site which all customers are welcome to look up and verify that we are charging the correct price. If the customer has any other questions, they are welcome to contact the office, 512-[redacted].
