Texas Emergency Care Center Reviews (7)

I visited this place back in July of with a simple case of poison ivy I have dealt with this many times, and I knew I just needed an injection At the time, I was in school and had no job, so I called first to verify 1) that they had the injection available and 2) what the cost would be with my insurance I was told that it would be $and that I may have to pay extra for the injection I lived over an hour away and was only in town on weekends, so I had my boyfriend take me inThere was no one else present in the waiting room I paid the $and waited to be called After about minutes, my boyfriend decided to leave and go across the street because it seemed like it may take awhile I was finally called back, and a nurse came in fairly quickly to get my information I told her I wanted to get the injection for poison ivy, and she left The doctor did not come in the room for over an hour During this time, I walked to the door several times and looked out where I could see 4-people, including the doctor, standing around something like a nurse's station talking and laughing I continued to wait, though it was very frustrating because they were clearly not busyThe doctor finally came in, sat down, looked at my leg, and told me I had poison ivy He said poison ivy generally tends to run in "lines" or "stripes", which mine was doing across the back of my calf Okay, so now we agree that I have poison ivy; may I get the injection to help dry it up? He said yes, I could, and he would have the nurse come in and give it to me He then started talking to me about poison ivy and what I could use on it topically I said I would use whatever he thought was best, I just really needed to get going He was in no hurry to get up, but still my entire time with him was approximately 5-minutes The nurse came in and gave me an injection and a prescription that he wrote for a topical lotionMonths later, I started receiving bills from this place, one for $800-something, and a second one for $300-something The higher one was worded "Emergency care Level II (or it could have been III) There were seven to eight charges for things that I DID NOT RECEIVE There was a charge for the injection, which I paid It was the only thing that actually took place that was on there It was painfully clear that they had kept me in there for an extended period of time so it would look like I received care that I did not receiveI did not pay the $or so they were asking me for the minutes the doctor spent with me, as that was supposed to be covered by the $I paid when I walked in the door In fact, I was specifically told by the person I spoke to on the phone before I ever went in that that's how much it would cost me to see the doctor with my insurance I believe they thought they could get this money from my insurance company, but when they didn't pay, they sent these bogus bills to meI am STILL receiving bills for this, now from a COLLECTION AGENCY So, first they bill me for non-existent care, and then they turn my in to collections and attempt to ruin my credit I have never paid bills late, nor have I failed to pay for any legitimate charge for medical care or otherwise I tried to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, but I had waited longer that days to file, so they can no longer process it I would still like for everyone to know that this is how this place does business They may be great if you have a true emergency, I don't know, but they are NOT the place to go for something minor Thank you for reading

Not sure I understand...there will be no bill..as you requestedPlease contact me at corporate office to discuss in person on tomorrowTerri H***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint First and foremost, I do not agree with the statement, the doctor kept telling me that there is NOTHING he can do because I am pregnant, I kept asking him so there is nothing you can do because I'm pregnant and there's only cat scan at Texas emergency care center which I needed an MRIThe doctor that was on duty kept suggestion to go to hospital and that there NOTHING he can do (he kept repeating that he can't help me any further but go to the hospital and no further testing he can do) I don't understand if I stay what other testing can he do when he already told me there's nothing more he can do, so all he can do is release me so I can go to the hospitalHe then told me that I would not be charge for the visit and the nurse even came in to room to let me sign for release because once again he can't do anymore test or anything on me because I am PREGNANT Once I got to the front desk she said the same thing as the physician, and nurse on duty that night that they would not charge me, she release me to sign form and gave me back my insurance card and id and didn't collect my copay the $*** copayShe didn't mention any copay because she said the visit was not going to be charge, which is odd how can you release someone and not mention any copay, right because I was told I wasn't going to be bill or charge for the visitThey should have not mention that I would not be charge I wouldn't be so angry when bill came home (my husband was there and heard exactly what I heard, he is also in disbelief when bill we receive) I am not happy with the way this is resultI will never recommend this place to anyone, I feel this place is a fraud what I was told and signI'll make sure to report this to my insuranceNo one expect to be coming in to a doctor or emergency care for free but don't ever mention something that's not true to the patient.
Regards,

I have reviewed the complaint from [redacted] and would like to report the following findings.  First, let me state... Texas Emergency Care Center does NOT have a form that indicates a patient is NOT responsible for their bill.  Nor has Texas Emergency Care Center ever had such a form since...

opening in 2006.[redacted]s was examined by the physician and several test were suggested by the physician.  While it is true that Stroke Treatment should be initiated within 4 hrs of the onset of symptoms, [redacted] did not present to Texas Emergency Care Center until well after this 4hr time frame and therefore treatment options would be limited.  Due to these limitation, the physician suggested a series of test be performed to further explore possible causes for her symptoms and then a possible transfer to the hospitals neurology services for further care should the test indicate such a need..  [redacted] refused testing and signed out Against Medical Advice from Texas Emergency Care Center.  [redacted] also signed a Declination of Non-Continuation of Medical Care.  She is correct in stating she signed more than one (1) form.Against Medical Advise - States that the she has chosen NOT to follow the suggested care of the physician and understands the risk of such.Declination of Non-Continuation of Medical Care - States that she is leaving on her own accord and that Texas Emergency Care did not in any way refuse care to her.  In my review of the records sent to [redacted], she is correct in stating only 1 signed form was sent... That was an over-site on the part of the person releasing the records, as the Declination form was catorgorized in the wrong section of the records.  (The person sending the records would not have looked in that section when pulling the record.)  The Consent Form and Quick Registration Forms are not classified as the Medical Record and not typically sent with a Medical Records Request.I have attached all Texas Emergency Care Center forms for your review as well.  Again, there is no statement in any of our forms that indicate a patient will NOT receive a bill, however Texas Emergency Care Center seeks to uphold the highest standards in patient care and customer services.  We will contact [redacted] directly to ensure she is notified the bill for the visit in question has been eliminated.  While our physician do not handle billing matters in any way and should never discuss billing matters with patients, we will stand by what was told to [redacted] and honor any such statements made to her by the physician on duty.Thank you for the opportunity to address the concerns of this patient.  We appreciate any and all feedback, concerns and questions regarding Texas Emergency Care Center and our  mission to be a service to the community.Terri D. I spoke with ronnie about buying 6 trees he asked how much I wanted I told him told him I didnt know so he said he would come look at them and give me a price I waited around all day then he came out with a man who worked with him didn't say a word let the other man do all the talking and the man told my husband he would haft to pay him. What bothers me is ronnie knew from talking to me we were selling the timber before he came to my home then let his partner try to charge us and knew good and well I called him about selling the timber. He wasted my time

I visited this place back in July of 2012 with a simple case of poison ivy. I have dealt with this many times, and I knew I just needed an injection. At the time, I was in school and had no job, so I called first to verify 1) that they had the injection available and 2) what the cost would be with my insurance. I was told that it would be $100 and that I may have to pay extra for the injection. I lived over an hour away and was only in town on weekends, so I had my boyfriend take me in.
There was no one else present in the waiting room. I paid the $100 and waited to be called. After about 15 minutes, my boyfriend decided to leave and go across the street because it seemed like it may take awhile. I was finally called back, and a nurse came in fairly quickly to get my information. I told her I wanted to get the injection for poison ivy, and she left. The doctor did not come in the room for over an hour. During this time, I walked to the door several times and looked out where I could see 4-5 people, including the doctor, standing around something like a nurse's station talking and laughing. I continued to wait, though it was very frustrating because they were clearly not busy.
The doctor finally came in, sat down, looked at my leg, and told me I had poison ivy. He said poison ivy generally tends to run in "lines" or "stripes", which mine was doing across the back of my calf. Okay, so now we agree that I have poison ivy; may I get the injection to help dry it up? He said yes, I could, and he would have the nurse come in and give it to me. He then started talking to me about poison ivy and what I could use on it topically. I said I would use whatever he thought was best, I just really needed to get going. He was in no hurry to get up, but still my entire time with him was approximately 5-6 minutes. The nurse came in and gave me an injection and a prescription that he wrote for a topical lotion.
Months later, I started receiving bills from this place, one for $800-something, and a second one for $300-something. The higher one was worded "Emergency care Level II (or it could have been III). There were seven to eight charges for things that I DID NOT RECEIVE. There was a charge for the injection, which I paid. It was the only thing that actually took place that was on there. It was painfully clear that they had kept me in there for an extended period of time so it would look like I received care that I did not receive.
I did not pay the $500 or so they were asking me for the 5 minutes the doctor spent with me, as that was supposed to be covered by the $100 I paid when I walked in the door. In fact, I was specifically told by the person I spoke to on the phone before I ever went in that that's how much it would cost me to see the doctor with my insurance. I believe they thought they could get this money from my insurance company, but when they didn't pay, they sent these bogus bills to me.
I am STILL receiving bills for this, now from a COLLECTION AGENCY. So, first they bill me for non-existent care, and then they turn my in to collections and attempt to ruin my credit. I have never paid bills late, nor have I failed to pay for any legitimate charge for medical care or otherwise. I tried to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, but I had waited longer that 365 days to file, so they can no longer process it. I would still like for everyone to know that this is how this place does business. They may be great if you have a true emergency, I don't know, but they are NOT the place to go for something minor. Thank you for reading.

Not sure I understand. ...there will be no bill..as you requested. Please contact me at corporate office to discuss in person on tomorrow.
