Upon receipt of this complaint, I did speak with the Front Office Manager, and Head Technician to find out what caused the delay on the day of the patients appointment - June 8th, 2017. They could not recall anything from that day, except that it is a day that he is in clinic all day and
may have had a difficult case earlier in the clinic. Our Billing Manager immediately refunded the $co-payment to the patient. If the patient had stopped at the Front Desk they should have refunded her that same day. I called the patient to apologize and informed her that we initiated the refundI did state to the patient that it was difficult to go back days and figure out what caused the delay. I appreciate her feedback. We are continually working to improve the work flow and provide excellent care to every patient. There are times that a patient's care may take more time than we expect. The patient should have been notified of the extra wait time. I apologize for any inconvenience this wait time caused the patient and will remind our staff of the importance of communicating unexpected delays to the patient
