This is *** *** of Butler Automotive, as I have read in your letter from Revdex.com that you guys may edit this response to protect privacy rights so I will use Mr *** *** name instead of ID ***, please take his name off so this does not cause a
privacy issue ,on 2.5.2016 Mr *** brought his Nissan Xterra 4x in with the following complaints, vehicle shakes when applying brakes, vibration when applying brakes, ABS light on, noise under vehicle about middle or rear of vehicle, ,shifter will not come out of park at times and AC is not working and he was especially concerned about ac compressor and wanted us to give him a 100% guarantee that it was good or bad, As you could imagine we get a wide variety of noise descriptions from different customers , we do our best to interpretate what they are trying to tell us. After test driving vehicle we found front rotors out of round very bad causing a bad shake when applying brakes, we found that the ABS light comes on at times when driving, we found a exhaust hanger broken and letting exhaust hit the frame of vehicle near the transmission making a noise and bumping under vehicle , this vehicle is a four wheel drive with miles on it and has had some hard service without much maintenance , we strive hard at Butler Automotive to help everyone we can with what they have and we understand everyone can not have a new or late model car with low mileage ,at this point we called Mr *** and talked with him about the problems that we had found so far , we gave him two price options , one with premium front rotors and one with economy front rotors-both prices included new front pads, new front wheel seals, cleaning and repacking front wheel bearings, cleaning and lubing front brake caliper slide pins and repairing exhaust ,customer was advised that ABS light comes on at times and was a problem with it, he was advised that we could not tell the condition of front wheel bearings until dissembled and inspected and may run into other problems after dissembled and could need other parts or work, customer authorized brake work and exhaust work and said he was not worried about ABS light at this time and requested to please check shifter problem and ac problem and was very concerned about ac compressor and wanted to know if it was good or bad ,when doing front brake work we found front caliper slide pins stuck in caliper brackets ,we had to heat them to remove and new ones had to be installed along with caliper pin dust boots, if you look at the attached picture you will see a new one (shinny) and two that came off Mr ***'s vehicle,we know a used one will not look like a new one but if you look close you will see the gaulding and seizeing of the two that came off Mr ***'s vehicle,if you check with any autorepair resource you will find that sticking calipers or sticking caliper pins cause the brakes not to release and over heat and warp the rotors which causes the vibration when applying brakes, this took extra time and parts and we do not have any type of xray vision to see these things ahead of time, all we can do is advise customers just as we did Mr *** about the possibility of other problems especially with four wheel drives vehicles ,we removed the center console to check the shifter problem, the shifter interlock solenoid is not releasing at times,it is getting power and ground supply when it does not release, shifter interlock solenoid is sold as part of shifter and only available through Nissan,on the ac system there is a metal line broken where it connects to the condenser -we have replaced this line also on other Xterra's and it is only available through Nissan,we always try to give customers options on parts but these two parts are only available through Nissan, the ac compressor will turn and is not locked down but this does not mean it will pump, the line will have to be repaired first before you will know condition of compressor, when Mr *** was called to pick up vehicle he was unsatisfied with bill, and he still was unsatisfied with ac compressor status and said he had bought a ac charge kit from parts store but could not get to work,I told him with a broken ac line it will not hold Freon-the line is broken-not cracked-you can move the line and look into it, I told him I would go out with him and look at when he came down to pick up,the estimate that was given did not include the removal of center console and diagnostic time for shifter problem or the checking of ac system,Mr *** was told the price was for front brakes and exhaust repair ,I think any reasonable person would agree that there is a charge to have the center interior/console removed and a electrical problem checked/diagnosed and I think any reasonable person would know there is a charge for checking your ac system-you will notice when you ride around town that autorepair shops sometimes have ac checks and a price listed to the side on outside signs, when he came or pick up he still wanted to look at ac compressor ,we both went out and I showed him the compressor would turn but explained again that you would not know if it pumps or leaks until ac system is charged.after Mr *** picked his vehicle he called back and said vehicle is better but still shakes a little when coming to stops,I told him to bring back and we would recheck,he did,we test drove and found the rear drums a little out of round,we removed rear drums and turned at no charge to customer, while test driving on some uneven pavement found at times the ABS would prematurely activate,as you read in the letter you sent me you will see Mr ***'s quote"i took it back.he said oh the back rotors need turning so im thinking ok I just paid an outrageous amount for front brakes and rotors but he said he turned the back for free"we never told Mr *** we turned his rear rotors for free because he Does Not Have Rear Rotors, this vehicle does not have four wheel disc,it has rear brake shoes with drums and if you get him to send you a copy of our first invoice-the first time he brought it in you will see a note last line that saysNote ABS light is on
Mr *** was advised that the vehicle had other problems to start with,we can not make people listen to what we are telling them and he was told he had a ABS problem to start with and he has seen the ABS light himself, the manufacture puts the lights on the instrument panel for a reason
When Mr *** picked up his vehicle the second time he had asked for keys to be left inside vehicle and did not come in shop when picked up, but called back and said vehicle still doing same thing and wanted refund,at this time I told him what we had found with ABS prematurely activating and I would have told him when he picked up but he did not come in shop,I told Mr *** we would diagnoisis for free and go from there ,that was not satisfactory with him,he says only thing will suite him is apply money he has paid to fix ABS or refund,I have tried to be fair with him and tried to help,we offered free diagnoisis and it could be simple repair or major ,you want know until checked and checking could take minutes or hours ,it is clear by Mr ***'s own words and letter that he is not listening to what he has been advised of,he has bought a worn out vehicle and expects the primary brake system to fix everything on the vehicle,he has stated he paid an outrageous amount for a brake job and failed to mention all the other work that was done and included in the bill ,the vehicle was not misdiagnosed but simply had more than one problem which is not uncommon on a year old four wheel drive vehicle that is exposed to a lot mud and water that has a miles on it,the ABS problem does not occur every time you drive vehicle, all that I have just said is true,Mr *** has already smeared my name on face book and smeared my Reputation in Greenwood and we have put forth a ginuwine effort to help him,he is asking you to ask me to give him back dollars and has been untruthful with you by saying I was not willing to help or work with him I would like you to ask him to put this on his face book with his employer and the pictures attached and I would like to know if we did give him a refund how are you,the Revdex.com and Mr *** going to undo the damage he has done on by posting information on the internet

Revdex.com:
It is obvious that mr [redacted] is not going to make right on what he has done to me go ahead and put the blemish on his record with the Revdex.com. I know im not going to get any justification for callingsomeone out I know he wouldnt refund me no so just let other people know what kind of person he is and what he does to people. This was a good bit of my tax money and he explained to me as he was taking my money he never had any complaints as I was complaining to him about my problem still not being fixed.so go ahead and put that blemish mark on there please im sure he has plenty of money I want to help out other people who dont have as much so that they arent put in worse positions by people like mr [redacted]
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Regards,
[redacted]

Hi  [redacted]   I have just looked over response from Mr [redacted], as Mr [redacted] stated in his first reply that the Nissan we are talking about per his own words   he thinks he has a vehicle with four wheel disc brakes and he does not , I think it is fair to say that he is incorrect on saying that a faulty ABS wheel speed sensor will damage the work that was done to  front pads and rotors, It Will Not ,a faulty ABS sensor only makes the ABS system prematurely activate the same as it would activate normally  when on a icy road , snow covered road , or any other slick surface, if what Mr [redacted] is saying is true then every one who drives a vehicle with a ABS brake system and  lives in a state that has a snow shower after they go to work then they would ruin their brake pads and rotors on the commute home and we all know this simply is not true. I am not disputing that Mr [redacted] had another problem as he was advised from the start ,we can only repair what the customer gives us permission to repair, when Mr [redacted] called back we offered a free diagnosis and told Mr [redacted] we would go from there
