Customer financed a set of tires, the receipt was written out with the price of the tires and the application fee, he wanted me to waive his taxes; unfortunately we do not collect the sales tax, it is collected by the finance companyI apologized for the misunderstanding, So in an attempt to
resolve the issue, I offered to cover half of off the tax cost, he declined the offer and demanded that I pay all his sales taxI let him know that was not a viable option

I am rejecting this response because this is not a misunderstanding.  At any legitimate business, taxes are collected at the point of sale.  The agreement was for $1500 out the door.  When I repeated myself, the only additional charge the store informed me of was the cost of the application for financing.  It was at this time that he should have let me know that taxes were collected by someone else.  Instead, they gave me a printed receipt that showed payments totaling $1500 plus an application fee.  $1500 plus an application fee is the only document I signed and agreed to.  I will not accept half of the disputed amount because it's not a misunderstanding, it's deceit on the part of Texas Tires.
