TGA Masonry & Concrete Reviews (16)

It is obvious TGA is not going to re-pour my patio, yet I paid full cost of $3,for a patio with no defectsWhat I got was a patio full of defects, and work that I should not have to pay full price for Therefore, I am willing to accept a credit in the amount of $800, paid to me in order to settle this case with the Revdex.comI came to that figure, because at least 1/of the patio brushing (as evidenced by the pictures I've provided) is completely unacceptable for any application, be it a patio, driveway, etc...it was just unprofessional work This is not a perfect solution, but is a fairer one than was offered to my by TGAThey had no reasoning behind their offer of a $credit, which isn't enough to cover any corrections, and was not a fair settlement offer to begin with

This client was referred to me by one of his friends that I have done previous jobs for, & she is very happy with my workmanshipThere are brush strokes of the broom that are a little more visible than the others, this is because of the concrete was slightly wetter in that area than the other, but I Honestly don't think it is bad enough to bring down the value of his home as he states This client kept calling me to come over & give him a bid to do his project, as we are so busy these days& I finally met him & gave him a price to do his jobHe had a lot of time to make a decision on using me or not, & heeding the warnings of the previous complaints as he states in his report, but he was very persistant on calling me to do his work The reason that we are so busy , is because we do good work, not amateurish as he states The man crew was not just dropped off, I was getting material for his job& I was hauling away the concrete debris that we removed form his old patio.I have had my crew for the last years, they know what theyre doing The customer wanted an X shaped joint lines leading to his existing drain in his patio, but the X shape lines cannot be exactly straight, because his drain is not centered in his patio area, therefore the line cannot be a true X shape, the client does not understand this He had my crew move one joint line different times, first he was happy with the position of the line, then he was not happy with the line, so he had them move it over, then he came back & had them move it again because he was not happy with the second move of the joint line, He is very indecisive I was there to wash & clean up the splatter on the walls days later & I wet the concrete & there are no puddles as he indicates I think there is over exaggeration on his part on all his comments, If there was a crack in it I would understand, but there is not, It is just brush strokes of the broom finish that he is concerned about Then he has an additional step leading to his garage, that we did & I did not charge him for that I met with the client to look at his overall project & I told him that the workmanship is not like he describes,& I explained to him about the joints & why they don't match up to his drain , But he still does not understandI wanted to get my camera to take pictures , but he told me to get out of his back yard & he didn't want me in his yard again, so he basically kicked me out I offered him $to ease his pain & suffering If the job was so bad, Why did he pay me the full amount check that we agreed on as soon as we were done? There is just over exaggeration on his part In this line of work , I meet so many people, & there are a few out there that are very hard to pleaseI have a great rating with Revdex.com, But of course there are going to be times when a guy just cant please everybody. There are so many different personalaties out there that we have to deal withI don't think that complaint is going to jeopardize my business

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) You were asked to leave my property AFTER you told me, and I quote, "I'm not going to fix this, it's not that bad, go ahead and file a complaint with the Revdex.com"...doneWhy would I want you on my property after that? In this entire complaint you've yet to offer any resolutions/fixes/compensationTherefore, I am asking the Revdex.com to close this case, and downgrade TGAs standing accordingly Anyone who would like to come look at TGAs handiwork to see for themselves if it is acceptable, is welcome to contact me

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As TGA Masonry/Concrete has been unwilling to correct their mistakes or settle this matter to my satisfaction to dateTherefore, before I file suit against them, I am requesting a mediation between us to try to resolve the matter outside of courtIt is my understanding that they are required to mediate or lose their accreditation with the Revdex.comPlease advise on a time and place for such a mediation to take place

You kicked me out of your property because you got irate, you said you didn't want me in your back patio, when I went to get my camera

Typical lazy contractor response, from someone who owns a business but has no attention to detail, and no pride in his workHis Revdex.com rating is not good as he states, in fact he only has two total history entries with the Revdex.com and they are both incredibly bad! I absolutely did not track this contractor down as he states, I actually had other bids before he even answered my call 2-weeks lateI only chose him because he had an opening to do the work, what a mistake I made!
He states bad brush marks are "a little more visible", look at the pictures again ***! Not only is it the first thing you see as you come in the yard, but 1/of the entire patio is filled with bad brushing, not just strokes! If these pictures represent acceptable work to you, then it's only because sub-par work is the norm for you, and unhappy customers an acceptable outcomeAnd that is why I did not accept his $"hush money", because I would rather WARN people about using him, so that they can avoid ending up with such shoddy work
Yes *** I did pay you in full, because I am an honest customer! However, you did nothing to fix any of the problem because your only interest is getting paid in full (as you insisted I give your crew a check for payment in full before they left before the job was even done!)The lesson to learn here is obviously, withhold payment from TGA until you are completely satisfied, or avoid them altogether, because after they get paid they could care less about their shoddy work or your disappointmentAlso, plan on cleaning up and fixing your own gate, trim, etcafterwards, because these guys burn rubber when they leave a job!
I'm glad that *** doesn't think this review will hurt his business, I think otherwiseA LOT of people check Revdex.com complaints before using contractors, now they will know to avoid this contractor at all costs! Trust your instincts people, if you think I would waste my time and turn down a $credit if I didn't have an absolute good reason to, then he will probably fool you too

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
This company will do anything to NOT take responsibility for the crappy work they do, and are complete armatures at laying concrete and dealing with customersI'll be damned if I'm going to pay them full price for their *** work, and if they don't pay me the $I am seeking through this process, and they force me to take them to court, I will be seeking full-cost restitution and all court costs associated with filing suit against them!

On 9/22/you said that you are asking Revdex.com to close this case, so therefore It should be closed That's why I have not responded And now after time has passed & gives you time to think more on this matter , you come up with asking me for $to make it right in your opinionYou are still trying to get money back You Asked Revdex.com to close the caseAfter you completely downgraded me & my company with all your complaintsDon't forget you kicked me out of your property, so I really don't want to go back thereYou already closed it on 9/22/

First he wanted me to saw cut out a section of the concrete that he states is bad, and now he wants the whole patio removedHe is over exaggerating his story on the process of the installation of the patioFirst of all , I did not just drop off my workers on the job, I went to get material for his project, then later I went to dump off the concrete debris that we had just pulled out from existing patiothen I returned with lunch & to check on the progress on the jobWe poured the concrete & he wanted joint lines to match up to center of the drain that is existing, He wanted a true X shaped joint lines, but his existing drain is not centered in the patio area that we poured, We set the joints like he wanted, then he kept having us change the joint lines different times, Because he wanted them to look like his neighbors" which he kept going over there to see how they were, then he would come back & change his mind on where they should be, So finally he was ok as to where to the joint lines were placedWe finished up the job, & paid me in FullIf he wasn't completely happy with the workmanship of the job , why did he pay me in full.? He asked me to do the job & that he is going to rent this unit outWe even moved other jobs around so that we could get to his job at the time that he wantedTheres some brush marks that are a little heavier than the other ones , because it wasn't as dry because of the shaded areaI met him a few days later because he stated that he wasn't happy with the job, & the job is not like he statesI told him that & he kicked me out of his property when I wanted to get my camera to take pictures, he said get out & I don't want you back here againI am not going to remove the patio because it is not the bad workmanship that he states. He kicked me out of there so why would I want to go back ?

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:In their response TGA is ignoring the fact that the patio concrete has CRACKED ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE SLAB (I've attached them again here, he needs to address them, not the "story he's sticking to"!) He's also ignoring the sunken area in front of the step where they pulled out stakes and had no cement to fill it So of course I reject his inane attempt at trying to blame me for the crappy brush work they did, because it's a moot point now The entire slab needs to be torn out and replaced or TGA needs to refund me the entire amount of $3,350, so I can pay a competent contractor to do the work
Sincerely,
*** ***

You were asked to leave my property AFTER you told me, and I quote, "I'm not going to fix this, it's not that bad, go ahead and file a complaint with the Revdex.com"...done. Why would I want you on my property after that?
In this entire complaint you've yet to offer any resolutions/fixes/compensation. Therefore, I am asking the Revdex.com to close this case, and downgrade TGAs standing accordingly.
Anyone who would like to come look at TGAs handiwork to see for themselves if it is acceptable, is welcome to contact me.

This client was referred to me by one of his friends that I have done 2 previous jobs for, & she is very happy with my workmanship. There are 3 brush strokes of the broom that are a little more visible than the others, this is because of the concrete was slightly wetter in that area than the...

other, but I Honestly don't think it is bad enough to bring down the value of his home as he states.
This client kept calling me to come over & give him a bid to do his project, as we are so busy these days& I finally met him & gave him a price to do his job. He had a lot of time to make a decision on using me or not, & heeding the warnings of the previous complaints as he states in his report, but he was very persistant on calling me to do his work.
The reason that we are so busy , is because we do good work, not amateurish as he states.
The 5 man crew was not just dropped off, I was getting material for his job. & I was hauling away the concrete debris that we removed form his old patio.I have had my crew for the last 7 years, they know what theyre doing.
The customer wanted an X shaped joint lines leading to his existing drain in his patio, but the X shape lines cannot be exactly straight, because his drain is not centered in his patio area, therefore the line cannot be a true X shape, the client does not understand this.
He had my crew move one joint line 3 different times, first he was happy with the position of the line, then he was not happy with the line, so he had them move it over, then he came back & had them move it again because he was not happy with the second move of the joint line, He is very indecisive.
I was there to wash & clean up the splatter on the walls 2 days later & I wet the concrete & there are no puddles as he indicates
I think there is over exaggeration on his part on all his comments, If there was a crack in it I would understand, but there is not, It is just 3 brush strokes of the broom finish that he is concerned about
Then he has an additional step leading to his garage, that we did & I did not charge him for that.
I met with the client to look at his overall project & I told him that the workmanship is not like he describes,& I explained to him about the joints & why they don't match up to his drain , But he still does not understand. I wanted to get my camera to take pictures , but he told me to get out of his back yard & he didn't want me in his yard again, so he basically kicked me out.
I offered him $300.00 to ease his pain & suffering.
If the job was so bad, Why did he pay me the full amount check that we agreed on as soon as we were done?
There is just over exaggeration on his part.
In this line of work , I meet so many people, & there are a few out there that are very hard to please. I have a great rating with Revdex.com, But of course there are going to be times when a guy just cant please everybody. There are so many different personalaties out there that we have to deal with. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the consumer in reference to complaint ID .[redacted],  and find that arbitration is necessary.

It is obvious TGA is not going to re-pour my patio, yet I paid full cost of $3,350 for a patio with no defects. What I got was a patio full of defects, and work that I should not have to pay full price for.
Therefore, I am willing to accept a credit in the amount of $800, paid to me in order to settle this case with the Revdex.com. I came to that figure, because at least 1/4 of the patio brushing (as evidenced by the pictures I've provided) is completely unacceptable for any application, be it a patio, driveway, etc...it was just unprofessional work.
This is not a perfect solution, but is a fairer one than was offered to my by TGA. They had no reasoning behind their offer of a $300 credit, which isn't enough to cover any corrections, and was not a fair settlement offer to begin with.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of Arbitration. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID .[redacted], , and find that arbitration is necessary. Sincerely,[redacted]
