TGM Plantation Ridge Apartments Reviews (1)

The living conditions at Plantation Ridge were unsanitary and unacceptable. In addition, they have never refunded our security deposit of several hundred dollars and were dishonest and deducted money for damages that they themselves incurred. Every person I have spoken to who has lived in their [redacted] apartments has had similar complaints about the living conditions, poor customer service, unacceptable maintenance, and being unrightfully charged for damages secondary to the building and appliances being outdated and falling apart from wear and tear. Our grievances began when there was a large water leak from the air conditioner that did not work in the middle of a very hot summer. The maintenance did not respond and the management was unavailable and unresponsive. There was a swamp in the bedroom. They refused to come and fix it and it grew mold, ruined our dresser and bed. After they finally came an vacuumed the water up they sprayed a caustic spray in the bedroom. When the water once again accumulated creating a second swamp the manager [redacted] came to look and saw the damage to our furniture and asked if we owned cats on account of their spray and the water smelling like kitty litter (we do not own any pets) he proceeded to claim there was no damage to our things and the water swamp had resolved. This was all completely dishonest, of course. On top of these unlivable conditions they have yet to provide our security deposit money that they owe one year later. They also deducted money for the carpet that they ruined by not responding to our plea to fix the air conditioner leak and swamp that then accumulated in our bedroom, ruining our furniture. In addition, they had the nerve to charge us for the decrepit blinds that were broken prior to our moving in as evidenced by the fact that the pieces would crack and fall off on a daily basis. We did tell this to them on many occasions including before moving out to assure they would not do this as we had heard they often do.Desired SettlementFull security deposit money owed. Business Response Dear Ms. [redacted],Per our company policy we inspect every apartment once the vacating resident returns their keys. After inspecting your apartment it was identified by our maintenance director you damaged a blind in the bedroom and during your stay had stained the carpet in many areas located in the living room, front entrance and bedroom. At the time of move-in you as the occupant signed a move in inspection which did not reference a broken blind or carpet stains. Per your lease each resident is responsible for damage to the apartment during their occupancy. I provided you and the other occupant with pictures of the damage per your request. I also had several conversations with you regarding the return of your security deposit. On [redacted] 2014 a check for [redacted] was mailed to the address you provided to our office on [redacted] 2014 as your forwarding address. A couple months later we received a call from [redacted] stating he could not locate the check and would like us to place a stop payment. I have correspondences from [redacted] stating to hold off on stop payment as he was going to look harder for the check. The last means of communication with either of you was early [redacted] 2015 which was you would get back to our office regarding the missing check. Please let me know if you would like me to reissue you a check for the balance of your security deposit and where you would like it mailed.Thank you.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We accept partial responsibility for the stains on the carpet, but many of those stains were caused by an HVAC leak which we notified Plantation Ridge of immediately. They were slow to respond and we withstood weeks of damp and dank conditions in our bedroom. We do not accept responsibility for the damage to the decrepit and cheap blinds that did not seem damaged when we left, but were probably damaged through normal use or from their technicians working on the carpet. We did lose the first security deposit check and at one time I said I would keep looking for it, but afterwards I followed up and said to go ahead and send the check. What we would like is the blind charge and part of the carpet charge and forward the check to our address in Northborough we gave you.Thank you.Final Business Response Dear Ms. [redacted], Your security deposit has been processed. Thank you for providing us with a new address. You should receive a partial return within 7 days. Thank you.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have not received anything.
