Review: The T H Moore Construction Group, LLC installed a new roof for me in Dec. 2011. For the most part I was pleased with the work and even recommended his business to a neighbor who also hired him. I recently noticed a stain on the ceiling in my living room. I hired 2 different contractors to see if they could find the source of the water leakage. After running water on the addition of my home and checking the attic to see if the water came in, they both concluded that the cause of the roof leakage appears to be where the addition roof meets the main house. They stated that it does not appear that the Moore Construction Group replaced the step flashing when the new roof was installed (most likely because it's a tight spot and they would have had to remove the house shingles to install the flashing.) The addition was put on the house in 1988, so the step flashing is now 25 years old. Mr. [redacted] also came out to investigate and stated that he felt the source of the water was from gaps in the chimney. Neither of the 2 other contractors I hired to look into the source of the leakage are in agreement with Mr. [redacted]'s assessment.Desired Settlement: I've already paid one of the contractors $100 to repair the living room ceiling. In addition I was given an estimated cost of $400.00 to replace the step flashing. I will replace the house shingles (several of which are rotted where the new flashing should have been installed) at my own cost. I am asking Mr. [redacted] to reimburse me for the cost of the ceiling repair and to also install new step flashing or reimburse me for the cost to hire another contractor.

I would be happy to repair any damages caused by my company due to poor workmanship. However, this customer never contacted me about this issue until she had more than one contractor out to look at it and make the repairs. As far as the step flashing is concerned, there wasn't any there prior to the roof being replaced. The contractor she had do the addition installed the siding right down to the roof rather than leaving a space like you're supposed to therefore making it impossible to install step flashing when the new roof was installed. It is possible that water is entering the house at this location as the siding was installed incorrectly, however, it is my professional opinion that the water is entering through a large gap between the siding and chimney. Interesting though that this leak didn't occur for almost 2 years after I finished the roof.

We've never had a complaint made to the Revdex.com in all the years we've been in business. As I would like to resolve this issue, in good faith, I would be willing to reimburse the homeowner for the repair to the ceiling upon receiving a copy of the bill from the contractor who did the repair. I've sent an email and left a phone msg for the homeowner to contact me when her contractor has removed the siding and I will install step flashing. She has not replied to either.
