clutter blocking the water heater. It was also noted that there was plumbing work to be done as well, all of this information was told to [redacted] & needed to be attended to before THA can install a new water heater. We then went back to a
The claims by THA are sorely false. The only “item” in the way was a workbench which I had put up on a floor jack for them to move two feet over, and there was plenty of room to do it and would have supplied enough work space as they stated. The area supervisor [redacted] of THA claimed that it had to be removed from the house, which is impossible for me to do, ridiculous and unprofessional demands and not permitted where I live. He stated that he refused to touch it, even on the jack although I had already removed all of the items upon it. He witnessed me trying to move it but couldn’t, due to my disability which is a permanent state of California DMV status. Normally they would have had to have removed the hundred pound water heater manually, dropped it three feet down to the ground, lifted the new one up into position. I provided an extension (addition) to the home. So they would not have to drop of lift the water heaters, just move the bench that was already up on a floor lift. I talked to the THA office weeks before and they agreed to that, but [redacted] refused. He never contacted me on the dates that he claimed. I called TURKO and made a complaint. After a month he came out with a rude and unprofessional rep from SDGE who was stating that working clearances for electrical panels were also valid for water heaters, which was wrong. I’m a licensed electrical engineer. Since [redacted] refused to touch it, but took a photo of my storage shelves and exercise equipment in a different part of the room entirely, I told them that I would personally move it over by the following Monday. I had successfully done so on Saturday, lifted it and moved it two feet over at risk to my spine from a spinal cord injury. Monday a polite installer showed up (Ishmael from THA) and performed the removal and installation of the new water heater.
