I am rejecting this response because: The Business states that I have never been there prior to my recent visit which is not true, I filed a prior report to the Revdex.com for not completing work on my truck and had to go back againAlso I was told on my visit on 9/07/ the thermostat looked a little rusty but was operating fine through the tests they performed, they did not recommend me to replace it or the radiator otherwise I would have had them do it as I kind of thought that might have been the radiator, I just wanted to get to the issue and have it taken care of bottom line without having this kind of outcomeI would have done whatever it took to keep my truck and now it is a total loss, and I am in debt $7,because I had to buy a new car last FridayIn my opinion they should not be doing engine repairs on cars and I will never ever take my vehicle there again nor would I recommend them to anyoneI also wonder how many of their employees are actually licensed mechanics that have worked on my truckMy experience with Brannon Tire has been extremely unsatisfactory

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

On 09/07/The Vehicle in question came in for an over-heating issue The customer stated that the truck was overheating and pouring out coolantWe pressure tested the cooling system and found no leak The radiator cap appeared to be original equipment and was rusty We also noticed that the thermostat housing was rusty and corroded, the radiator was badly corroded, and the over flow bottle was brown and emptyThe coolant had a burnt smell Based on the visual inspection we suggested replacement of the thermostat housing & thermostat, along with the radiator, both radiator hoses, radiator cap, and a coolant system flushThe customer instructed us to start with replacing the radiator cap and flushing the coolant system onlyAfter replacing the radiator cap and flushing the cooling system we test drove the vehicleThe system drove ok with no over-heatingAfter the test drive we let the vehicle run for additional minutesThe temperature gauge did not get hotVehicle seemed to be ok upon leaving our store On 09/11/The customer came back with the same complaint of an over-heating issueUpon further diagnostic we discovered the vehicle showed signs of hydrocarbons in the cooling systemThe customer felt we did not diagnose the overheating issue correctly the first time, and felt he should get his money back from the initial diagnosticWe agreed to refund his diagnostic feeThe customer said he knew of a consumer assistance program (C.A.P.) from the B.A.Rthat would give assistance for emission related repairs if the vehicle had smog related issuesWe smog tested vehicle and it passed emissions, so, unfortunately, it did not qualify for the programI do agree we were wrong on our initial cooling diagnostic and that's why we decided to refund his diagnostic fee as he requestedWe have never serviced this vehicle prior to his visit to our location on 09/07/ We have never performed any type of service to the vehicle that would have caused hydrocarbons to be in the cooling system prior to the date of his first visit I personally feel that since we did not cause the condition that the vehicle came to us for, that we should not be liable for replacing the engine as he desires We are, however offering a full refund in the amount of $129.16, which would include a free smog test of $ This, we feel, goes above and beyond the complaint Thank you, Tom Tovar Manager, Brannon Tire

On 09/07/17 The Vehicle in question came in for an over-heating issue.  The customer stated that the truck was overheating and pouring out coolant. We pressure tested the cooling system and found no leak.  The radiator cap appeared to be original equipment and was rusty.  We also...

noticed that the thermostat housing was rusty and corroded, the radiator was badly corroded, and the over flow bottle was brown and empty. The coolant had a burnt smell.  Based on the visual inspection we suggested replacement of the thermostat housing & thermostat, along with the radiator, both radiator hoses, radiator cap, and a coolant system flush. The customer instructed us to start with replacing the radiator cap and flushing the coolant system only. After replacing the radiator cap and flushing the cooling system we test drove the vehicle. The system drove ok with no over-heating. After the test drive we let the vehicle run for 45 additional minutes. The temperature gauge did not get hot. Vehicle seemed to be ok upon leaving our store.   On 09/11/17 The customer came back with the same complaint of an over-heating issue. Upon further diagnostic we discovered the vehicle showed signs of hydrocarbons in the cooling system. The customer felt we did not diagnose the overheating issue correctly the first time, and felt he should get his money back from the initial diagnostic. We agreed to refund his diagnostic fee. The customer said he knew of a consumer assistance program (C.A.P.) from the B.A.R. that would give assistance for emission related repairs if the vehicle had smog related issues. We smog tested vehicle and it passed emissions, so, unfortunately, it did not qualify for the program. I do agree we were wrong on our initial cooling diagnostic and that's why we decided to refund his diagnostic fee as he requested. We have never serviced this vehicle prior to his visit to our location on 09/07/2017.  We have never performed any type of service to the vehicle that would have caused hydrocarbons to be in the cooling system prior to the date of his first visit.  I personally feel that since we did not cause the condition that the vehicle came to us for, that we should not be liable for replacing the engine as he desires.  We are, however offering a full refund in the amount of $129.16, which would include a free smog test of $59.95.  This, we feel, goes above and beyond the complaint.   Thank you, Tom Tovar Manager, Brannon Tire

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

This vehicle was part of a smog program. It does not cover any work other than smog emission work. We put a filler neck on gas tank and a converter . We never touched any coolant hoses. If vehicle was leaking , we would have mentioned. We don't feel that we did anything wrong , but since the...

customer did returned and paid to have hose tightened we feel we can give him a free coolant flush.
