Review: Per Statute: Cal. Civ. Code § 1748.1(a) “No retailer…may impose a surcharge on a cardholder who elects to use a credit card in lieu of payment by cash, check or similar means…”
That's Amore Pizza Restaurant violates this law. The menu and prices were posted on a large sign on the wall at the cash register. The clerk took my order and rang it up, and told me that the total would be surcharged if I used my [redacted] credit card. There was no sign indicating that the posted prices were cash-only prices, nor was there any sign indicating a surcharge for use of Visa credit cards. This is a violation of Calif Law as cited above.Desired Settlement: Cease violating California law which prohibits surcharges to posted prices when charged to credit cards.
