Company substituted product for item that was less expensive on competitor website; wouldn't honor price match guarantee
I purchased a 960 model compressor the morning of 1/26/18. I received an email later that day asking for my approval regarding a model number change. The manufacturer changed the part number to 875. I approved this change. After looking back at the part number later that evening, I realized that I had seen it for sale on other sites for considerably less than what I had paid. I paid around $630 for the 960 model, while the 875 model was available from competitors for around $435. I sent an email 1/29/18 asking if the company would price match the competitor for the 875 model and provided the link. I did not receive an email response but did receive a phone call on 1/30/18. The person who called stated that the compressor was ready to ship and asked me if I still wanted it. I told her yes, and that was the end of the conversation (which lasted 37 seconds). I received the compressor on 2/5/18, and will have it installed later this week. I sent another email on 2/5/18 asking about the price match, and received an email that stated "That is why I called you before we shipped your compressor. We are not able to match the price." The price match was never mentioned in the 37-second conversation on 1/30/18.

They state that they should be contacted before the order it placed and they will match the price. I wasn't afforded that opportunity; they already had my money, but refused to honor the price match policy. It wasn't my fault the manufacturer changed part numbers. Despite searching repeatedly, I have never been able to find the 875 model on the company's website, but they have the 960 model for sale.

Desired Outcome

I want the company to honor their price match policy. I want the difference between the company's 960 model shown online and the competitor's 875 price refunded.

Dear Representatives of the Revdex.com:

As stated in our Price Match Guarantee Policy, we must be provided with the competing vendors quote and/or site link to be sure the same product is being compared.

This was discussed by phone and nothing was provided to us. Furthermore, we offered to cancel the order if they so choosed and they insisted on the product being shipped.

Unfortunately, now that the product has been pulled from inventory, inspected, handled and shipped it now needs to be handled as a Return should they choose to do so.

Sometimes when manufacturers substitute part numbers there is a change in cost. Due to our fast moving inventory, our items are current and only seldom would we be able to locate a previous revision.

We hope this clears up any concerns with our Price Match Policy guidelines.

The company responded that they discussed the price match policy over the phone with me. This is untrue. Here is how the 37-second phone conversation on January 25th at 12:25 pm went: "Hello we have your part ready to ship do you still want it? Yes I need it. Okay we will send it." At no time was the price match policy discussed over the phone. The only mention of the price match policy was after I sent a second email, which I mentioned in my original complaint.

Dear Representatives of the Revdex.com:

We simply can not keep up with this customer any longer, she has caused enough damage as it is. She has much more time on her hands to continue this matter than we do. This matter has involved over 5 Team members. We have made several attempts to contact her by phone but she has refused to answer or return our calls.

Mrs. has already been offered he $168.00 (which is the ACTUAL difference) once the sales tax and shipping costs charged by Sears Parts Direct are calculated to simply lay this issue to rest.

NOTHING will satisfy this individual as she has declined that offer as well. We have never seen such a thing in the 10 Years we have been in business. We are not "challenging her integrity", the truth is we attempted to reach her and she has ignored our calls. If she truly desired to reach a resolution, she would accept the call.

This will be our last response regardless of hers. We have thousands of customers to attend to satisfactorily and she clearly can not be one.

We hope you can see we have made good faith effort, responding to each message. We wish her all the best and hope she finds a new vendor for her future needs as we are not the right fit for her.

I purchased a complete heat pump system 7 years ago. It has been working perfectly since then. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Price was great. Normally a system of this magnitude should be installed by a professional. Being an AC licensed tech, it was not a problem for me. Usually most problems arise because of errors during installation. Company and manufacturers should not be responsible for these errors. I would definitely recommend AC Outlet to anyone interested in purchasing at a reduced price, with the condition of having it installed by a knowledgeable technician.

BEWARE: Ordered Product on-line, then representative called seeking personal and confidential information.
I ordered 3 Bryant controllers on-line.

I used my AMEX to pay for the items. The billing address and delivery address were the same.

A representative of AC Outlet then called me and insisted I have her on the phone to call AMEX to verify my purchase, although such verification would provide the listener the necessary information to then call AMEX on her own, and steal my identity.

Once I understood this fraudulent scam, I immediately terminated the call and insisted that the AC Outlet refund my purchase, which they have still not done.

Desired Outcome

I seek an immediate refund of the amount that AC Outlet fraudulently charged my credit card.

Dear Representatives of the Revdex.com:

Due to online purchasing fraud we have certain security measures in place to avoid unwanted charges for both parties.

As in this case, some orders are flagged due to multiple quantities of the same item. In order to ensure order accuracy, we simply contact the credit issuer to confirm valid cardholder status and validity of the charge in question.

No personal information is requested or stored, it is simply an order verification. There has been times, where the credit issuer has advised us of lost or stolen credit cards at time of verification. Most customers appreciate this extra step we take, although some (as in this case) find it more of an inconvenience.

We realize it takes a few minutes of everyone's time but it beats the alternative of capturing funds on fraudulent transactions.

Mr., who personally placed the order online is already claiming we charged his card fraudulently. Either way his order was voided the very same day and no funds were captured from us.

We hope this clears up any concerns.
