This was the WORST experience ever with a home improvement contractor He did work for me before on the outside of my home and everything was OK so I hired him to do my basement The workers (except for one) were unskilled - bad drywalling, tape and mudding EXTREMELY POOR!!! His workers NEVER work one full day and never showed up before 11am Many time I waited and no one came I paid this man over half of the price and got a basement in shambles - in worst condition than when his "company" started I have recessed lights were the light bulbs are hanging out He left my laundry room COMPLETELY unfinished - Not one job was ever completed His worker unplugged my freezer and I lost hundreds in food I have so much badly cut drywall that the project would of taken times the amount of drywall needed We made arrangement to return some of the money - he return some only because I kept calling him.and I haven't heard from him since

I have always have had, and still have the intentions and will make sure that you receive your reimbursement of funds that are due you sooner rather than later. Once again, I apologize for the delays, as you may know, that during, and even after we started your project, I was overwhelmed with sickness and one surgery after another, which made it difficult for me to stay on top of many of my obligations. Therefore regrettably some fell through the cracks, because I was very limited in my ability to go out and oversee or work a normal schedule. Well at the age of 70, it takes a little longer, I am not all there yet, but I am nearing my recovery from the last surgery, and am now looking forwards in getting back on track with many of my obligations. Therefore again, in spite of the judgment, I would like to let you know that you are one of my very first priorities. So on the first of each month when I get my retirement check, I will make sure to provide you with a Certified check of $1,000.00, and if I get any work, outside of my retirement check before the first, I will provide you with additional funds, depending on what I am able to make from a contract. I understand that the judgement would allow you access to my bank accounts, and when funds are deducted based on that action, I will not have the $1,000.00 and still have enough to live on for the month, but I will still provide you with a check from any contract that I may get after the first. I understand that you have little to no faith in me due to the past experience, I want you to know that it was no intentional. I was ver sick, and could not do much better at the time. I would like to get this matter resolved just as quickly as possible, so that I can put this issue behind me and move on with my life. I just want you to know, that I am very sorry for your inconvenience, and would like to resolve the issue at hand. Sincerely Andrew [redacted] Sent from [redacted] Mail for iPhoneOn Friday, October 30, 2015, 7:01 AM, [redacted] <[redacted].com> wrote:Mr. B[redacted], We all agreed that reimbursement of the money negotiated would be an acceptable solution. We look forward to receiving your post dated check.Sincerely, [redacted]M:  ###-###-####On Sun, Oct 25, 2015 at 2:40 PM, andrew [redacted] <[redacted].com> wrote:Hi [redacted],I hope that you are doing well, I just wanted to get back with you regarding the payment. I will be sure to have the follow-up payments on time from that point moving forward. Please try to believe me, that I am trying very desperately to get this behind me, it's been very difficult for me since this all developed. This was the WORST experience ever with a home improvement contractor. He did work for me before on the outside of my home and everything was OK so I hired him to do my basement. The workers (except for one) were unskilled - bad drywalling, tape and mudding EXTREMELY POOR!!! His workers NEVER work one full day and never showed up before 11am. Many time I waited and no one came. I paid this man over half of the price and got a basement in shambles - in worst condition than when his "company" started. I have recessed lights were the light bulbs are hanging out. He left my laundry room COMPLETELY unfinished - Not one job was ever completed. His worker unplugged my freezer and I lost hundreds in food. I have so much badly cut drywall that the project would of taken 3 times the amount of drywall needed. We made arrangement to return some of the money - he return some only because I kept calling him.and I haven't heard from him since.

Unfortunately, I awarded a contract to install (4) sump pumps to this small minority owned company. The contract was awarded April 2014 and a few months later the contractor asked for money up front to pay his hired help. a few months later he asked that the university pay for all materials and he would invoice us for labor once the work was complete. Obviously the company was trying to sub-contract the work but was unsuccessful. On 6 January 2015, based on the company's inability to do the work I terminated the contract and requested reimbursement of the $14,131.43. The owner informed me that he did not have the money. The advanced payment was for materials and the money was spent elsewhere. The owner did not and will not answer my calls because, and I quote " I am extremely busy trying to keep my business afloat, this is the time is the season when my type of work is in high demand, I am not ignoring you, but due to my schedule, it is best that I communicate by text or email, this is the time of the year when I must pound the pavement constantly and considerately to complete for contracts ". The problem with this statement is that he answered the phone "every" time I called him prior to the contract being canceled. The uninversity is current in the process of suing the company for the funds.
