patient seems to be upset that the necessary retesting to determine if his
allergy shots were effective was not covered by his insuranceOn the date that

her years of working here, *** never discussed financial issues with
patientsAnd *** always refers them to the front desk. So I doubt
the nurse discussed his insurance benefits with him

the best information they have available but they cannot guarantee the accuracy
of the benefitsThis is a huge problem for the patients and for us, but since
the insurance companies have money for unlimited lobbying, they write the laws
in the state of Texas

in this case, the patient claims he was told that his testing would be covered
at 100% after a co-payWe did not document re-verifying his benefits in 2013,
but in it clearly said that he has a $deductible each year, and that
services such as allergy shots, allergy testing etcall are applied to the
deductible It is possible that one of our staff misspoke, and it is also
possible that he misunderstood the benefits that we described to himWe always
advise the patient to confirm what the insurance company tells us by calling
them directly
4) regarding
about our high prices and the increasing costs of healthcare in general, I
refer him and the Revdex.com to what we wrote about why allergy shots sometimes don't work
Basically, you get what you pay forWe do not know if the current allergist is
board certified in allergy or even has any allergy/immunology trainingWhat we
do know is that the great majority of doctors who claim to be allergists use
much lower than recommended doses of allergens and their allergy shots.
Thus, if their prices are 50% less expensive than ours, the patient still gets
more for his money by coming to us as our shots are often to times
stronger. That means comparing apples to apples, the other shots should
cost between and 10% of what we charge
They don't care about charging the market price.
They have not reduce their outregeous charge because they only care anout profiting from this situation.
