My daughter has been attending The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale for over yearsThis last trimester, she met with what the school calls "Student Advisor" to go over her graduation requirements
After reviewing her academic records, he advised her to register for her last two classes (Portfolio Review and Internship)This would allow her to graduate on December 15, She was also invited by the school to attend the pre-graduation meeting so she could get all the information needed for her graduation that was to take place on Dec 15,
On November 7th she received a call from the school advising her that a class that she had taken the semester before, a grade had not been recorded on time and she was missing that class and that she was not going to be able to graduate on Dec She immediately went over to the advising office and nobody was available to talk to her
She proceeded to visit that same day the finance office and did talk to Financial Advisor who advise her that she needed to drop her portfolio class and retake it with the class that she was missing(2,dollars)She spoke to the Dean of Student Affairs to see if he at least could allow her to finish the class without dropping it and then take the class that was missing the following trimesterHe asked for some time to see how he could help, but responded later with no positive results
We cannot believe that after paying the school over $40,dollars in the last two years that the least the school could have done was to allow her to finish the class and just take the missing class the following semesterNow she has to see how she can find the money to finish the two classes
Financial aid cannot offer financial assistance since she is only going to be registered for the two classes
