The Art Institute of Phoenix Reviews (4)

The Art Institute acquired my phone number about a year ago, I told them I was no longer interested, and I am now getting phone calls from them 5 times a day. This is predatory, and they are trying to bully me into enrolling.

I have requested they stop calling me because I am not interested, and the calls have not stopped.

I warned them I would report them to the Revdex.com and still they call 5 times a day. This has to stop.

Review: When I started attending The Art Institute of Phoenix, I was told that they had a 90%+ placement rate, and was also told that I could work full-time while attending school. While I was attending, I was not able to work full time hours, nor was I placed after graduation in a trusted well known company. After contacting the school I quit the job and moved back to Minnesota, where I have been trying to get help with placement in my field, to no avail. They seem to be disorganized, they tell me to look on the different job websites, which I do constantly, and send me [redacted] ads for jobs (in Arizona no less, I am in Minnesota!). They don't have insider jobs like they said they did, and thats how they placed their students. I also had a couple different internships lined up while I was in school and my academic advisor, [redacted], called the companies and told them not to bring me on, because I wasn't a good fit nor could I handle it, when I was part time school and not working!Desired Settlement: I would like a full tuition refund from The Art Institute of Phoenix. They completely mislead me into attending their school on false ideas that they would help me find an internship to build my skills while I was in school, and then turned away from, and have not gotten any help finding appropriate employment hereafter. I worked very hard throughout my college career and feel that they only wanted the money from me, and not wanting me or the other students to be sucessful after graduation.

Response:

Alexandra,

This is a follow up to assisting [redacted] with finding employment.

Since receiving notification of Ms. [redacted]’s concerns, The Art Institute of Phoenix Career Services Director immediately responded by assigning a Career Services Advisor who is knowledgeable of design to continue to source job opportunities for the Minneapolis area. In addition, the Advisor has been contacting businesses where [redacted] interviewed to request feedback. Efforts have also been made by the Advisor at the Phoenix campus to schedule a meeting with The Art Institute in Minneapolis Career Services Department to search for job opportunities locally and mock interview Ms. [redacted] now searches for leads and sends them to the Advisor with the expectation that the campus makes the introduction. The Director will continue to follow up and encourage [redacted] to meet with the Minneapolis campus.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

Director of Finance

It's been seven years since I graduated from the Art Institute of Phoenix and I'm right back where I was before I attended the school. A sales associate at Lowe's. The only positive thing I can say is my pay is higher and I am able to talk about how much I enjoyed living in Phoenix. That's it. I attended their Interior Design program, just barely graduated. The teachers were not very friendly or helpful. I feel as if I was always ignored because of the fact that I worked and went to school, and was actually told several times by my advisor that I needed to quit my job so I could concentrate on school. However I was working because I couldn't afford not too. Whenever I did ask for help from my teacher's and advisor I felt as if I was bugging them. It is the biggest waste of money. And now I'm stuck with the huge bill that I can't pay.
