Review: This complaint is more than a "sales issue", as it also pertains to product and customer service issues. The bouncer for "The Artful Dodger" business continually charges students on "student entry-free" events. On multiple accounts, the bouncer named "[redacted]" has charged $10 and $20 amounts even when student ID was provided. With legitimate student ID, entry is free on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, but he has denied entry unless payment in cash was given which he demanded (even when proof of student ID was provided).Desired Settlement: This bouncer should absolutely be considered to be replaced by someone who is more fair and loyal to his own customers. Even after speaking with this bouncer after the first couple occasions, he still urged for payment when others right before me (in line) were given free entry with student ID (which I also had). Racism seems to play a role in this situation, and it is not right for the local student [redacted] community or anyone else who may go through the same experience in the future...

In conjunction with Complaint ID: [redacted] both patrons were refused service for over intoxication. They both were informed they would not be allowed back in to the establishment. The doorman in question was merely trying to discourage reentry, while patrons were belligerent with him. If future such insentience of over intoxication is to occur again, with said patrons, we will simply refuse entry at anytime.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Absolutely not satisfied with this resolution, because the response made by the business is absurd and inaccurate. We were not over-intoxicated what so ever, or under the influence for that matter, as this business location would be the starting point of our evening. Furthermore we were not belligerent with the doorman, as we were just any normal patrons trying to enter the business building and enjoy our night. He acted abnormally and unfairly by charging us ridiculous amounts for entry on student nights (free with applicable identification, which we had). In an instance where there was a line for entry, patrons before us would be allowed in under the "normal" guidelines for free entry with student i.d. Still, the doorman ([redacted]) would charge a higher amount than even the instance before that, and we were not even close to any intoxication (may or may not be a sense of racism from [redacted] the doorman). I see their response as a "cover-up" or "excuse" and an attempt to take advantage of us. I am not pleased at all as there were at least 3 instances of this case, and something needs to be done about this business management, particularly of the doorman.

Review: bouncer at the business of The Artful Dodger on at least 3 attempts for charging student of entry fee. With student ID, it is free of charge on Tuesday and Thursday nights. He attempted to charge $5 one night, $20 a second night, and $10 a third night. bouncer's name is "[redacted]" and he is there on both student entry-free nights (Tuesday and Thursday).Desired Settlement: He should be replaced by a bouncer who is fair and ethically just to his customers. Even after speaking with him after the first encounter and then the second encounter, continued to not let customer in until money was given.

So what you are telling me is that we were overly intoxicated all THREE incidents? My friend had to get a bar tender from the inside of the building because the bouncer, which is big muscular guy, wants to continue to start stuff with 2 college students thsy want to have a good time and are bringing profit to your Venue by buying drinks there every Thursday. We even offered to shake things out and he continued to be an as. I bet the guy never thought that we would take it this far but if it had to be done. It's your job as a bouncer to let people in and out with justification. Not to be a [redacted] EVERYTIME we go. The first time he rejected, we accepted and went about our business. The 2nd and 3rd times around he tried to charge us $20 on a free night which is why it seemed as if we were "overly intoxicated". We were just airing out at the guy to try and get our point across. He continued to be a [redacted] so now we are here.
