Upon first inspecting the device in question, it was immediately apparent that it had been abusedThe tank (atomizer attachment) had been screwed down so tightly that it required tools to removeUpon removing the tank from the battery, very clear signs of damage were visibleThere were etchings
from metal-on-metal contact on the top of the device, commonly known as "atty swirl." In a device as new as this one was, this can only be caused by over torquing the tank onto the deviceAs I explained to the customer, this was almost certainly the cause of the short circuit (over torquing the tank causes the electrical connection pin to bottom out and short circuit)As this was quite clearly user error and not a manufacturing defect, it was not covered under our warranty policyDespite calmly and clearly explaining this to the customer repeatedly, he became angry and belligerent to the point that the police had to be called

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: this response is not truthfulWhen I came into the store on 2/21/I clearly noted in my original complaint that the associate *** had attempted to rectify the problem*** and I also stated this fact to the manager on 2/22/*** originally agreed with his associate *** diagnosis of the problem being a manufacturing defect until it was bought to his attention the date of purchase and that I qualified for a refund/exchangeIt was then that his diagnosis changed to "well it could be a manufacturing defect or it could be something else" not giving an accurate or definite diagnosisAfter being asked what else could it be he then mentions that "it could be because the tank was on a particular type of way, screwed on tightly" but he was not for sureAfter disagreeing with his new "uncertain" diagnosis I then bought to his attention that *** was the last person to disconnect and connect any parts on the device on the day priorSo if it was tourqing issue at that present time it was done by his employee*** was present at this timeI also bought to ***s attention that the device began working again and then stopped again at one point after my initial call on 2/20/I have also done further research that shows that this is common defect with the devicesI will also note the device is still in new conditionThe manager has changed his original definite defect diagnosis to a now almost certain response only in hopes of disqualifying a refund/exchangeFurthermore at no point did anyone become belligerent or angryI have also obtained a 2nd diagnosis from a different shop that has agreed with *** response and ***s original response that this is a common manufacturing defectAgain I am highly disappointed in the manager ***'s response
Regards,
