Review: I cancelled this membership in October 2014. I personally went into Atlantic Club, sat with a female representative and had her close my account. I closed the account because I moved from the area. Each month I receive a bill for $25.00.

I disputed the charges with [redacted] and charges were reverted back to my account. [redacted] has placed a block on my account with Atlantic Club. Each month I am sent an invoice and each month I send back the invoice back saying the account was closed in October 2014.Desired Settlement: Stop billing me each month and accept that this account has been closed.

[redacted] committed to a 12 month contract on 8/1/14 and signed our agreement. She stated that she would like to cancel in October, which is not possible under the terms of her contract without a lump sum payout. Her membership type allows her to suspend for 6 months at a $25 fee, which was put in place 10/14. As a courtesy, we extended to 7/1/15which is 10 mos and then her contract would be cancelled on her renewal date. I know that the Atlantic Club has acted more than appropriately based on the signed contract, which I can provide. Please feel free to reach out to me with any additional questions.

Review: Hello - I'd like to clarify the primary nature, as I believe there are 4 issues in total. Those 4 issues are: A sales presentation that misrepresented the service/product, a sales presentation that failed to disclose KEY conditions of the offer, an improper/INFERIOR service provided in lieu of service/product pitched, and an unreasonable or excessive delay in completing service and/or providing product/service sold. I signed up for a health club membership that included an indoor pool. Prior to signing up I communicated clearly in several e-mails to the sales gal ([redacted] Wellness Coordinator/The Atlantic Club) my primary and only purpose for joining the club, which was for the indoor pool. She confirmed and clarified pool hrs and even recommended the membership which would meet my pool needs (her recommendation). I kept all e-mails and can prove her following response: "Our classic membership would suit your pool needs best" to my statement, "I only use the pool and am not interested in the other club amenities". I showed up to the first week of February to swim which is when my membership was official and the VERY first thing I hear from the lifeguards on duty (Atlantic Club employees) and Group Swim Instructor (Atlantic Club employee) was. "we will be starting renovations soon and the exact date has not been determined, arrangements will be made and signs will be posted". I smiled and thought to myself there is no way this could effect me and my membership - they would of told me YESTERDAY when pitching their membership that "would suit my pool needs". I joined February (minimum contract 1 year/12 months). The pool has been under renovations since May 19th with unreasonable accommodations - out doors, hrs that are not feasible for me (nor what I agreed to), and under conditions I did not sign up for. My membership included an indoor pool at The Atlantic Club in Wall Township that is open to me to swim M-F 5am-10pm & Sat 6am-7pm &Sun 6am-6pm.Desired Settlement: I would like my membership cancelled as of July 1st 2014. I was marketed & sold a 1 yr contract/membership of which the club can’t offer the services promised& in which the club withheld KEY info. I was denied KEY information regarding the pool and witnessed during my first month AC staff members including [redacted] tell others about the renovations. INDOOR POOL CLOSED currently from May19th-Sept 1st. Honestly they can't even promise it will open Sept 1st. I need to swim elsewhere and should not be held financially responsible for a contract the club can't fulfill. When I went in person to discuss on 6/9/14, both [redacted] (my Wellness Coordinator and sales person) and her manager [redacted] denied misleading/misrepresenting the Classic membership and Indoor Pool. They both denied my request of cancelling my membership. I have all e-mails between [redacted] and myself stating her misrepresentation and lack of KEY information when discussing the indoor dated Jan 29, 2014.
