From start to finish they were helpful, friendly, and professional, and they could not have been more efficient or careful in the actual move. The cost was very reasonable too. Review: Santa Barbara Consignment Company has refused to return an item I took to the shop for possible consignment. I took the item, an antique tapestry, into the shop on or about 6/28/13. On that day I spoke with Jennifer and Al . SB Consignment did not give me an inventory list of the items I left at the shop. On 7/5/13 I called to discuss the items I had taken in. The items included: a set of 90+ pieces of Spode china, 16 Stuben glass goblets, 12 Stuben plates and 1 Stuben bowl; 2 small Asian paintings, 8 silver plated nut dishes; 12 German-made salad plates; 1 framed needlepoint wall hanging; 1 set of Waterford salt and pepper shakers; 2 Stuben decanters with sterling silver plates; and the antique tapestry. On 7/5/13 I returned to the store to pick up some broken/chipped/random pieces of china that Al said could not be sold. I asked for an inventory list of all the items I had left. Al said they were still researching & had not yet finished pricing or preparing the list of my items.On 7/19 I called the store to get prices for my items. Al gave me the prices with the exception of the framed needlepoint wall hanging and the tapestry. He stated he recalled the two forgotten items and would get prices for the items and get back to me. On 7/20/13 I went to the store to pick up all of the items, as I did not feel the prices the shop was selling them for was fair. The owner of the shop, Susan seemed very angry with me . At her request I gave Jennifer $30 to for washing some of the Spode china. Jennifer assisted me in collecting all of my items, with the exception of the tapestry. Jennifer was unable to locate the tapestry, but would do so. I gave her a general description of the item. On 8/2/13 I called to ask if I could pick up the tapestry. Al told me I never brought a tapestry into the store. Id had previous conversations with Al and Jennifer about the tapestry, so this was a change in attitude about my property.Desired Settlement: I want my tapestry back. This is a description of the tapestry: approx. 30" by 48"; handmade with a renaissance scene in dark colors with Latin text - rolled up, rather than stretched.
