We contracted to do two separate bath systems for *** *** on 9-13-
We installed the first system on 10-11-16, the shower in their master bathroom, we installed it to our written agreement #***
For some reason after the entire shower was installed and paid for in full, Mrs
*** decided to call us and tell us she wasn't happy with the width of her shower?
If this was an issue she should have stopped the installation in progress and voiced her concerns, not after the total completion of the project
We installed the widest shower that would conform to California State LawShe was told we would do that when she ordered the showerHer existing tub-shower was 30" wide and her new shower was able to come out to 36" wideSo we did make it as big as it could be per code requirements
We were also contracted to do her second bath and it was scheduled to be installed on 10-11-but the tub we ordered was sent incorrectly by the manufacturerWe had to unfortunately had to reset the install of that system out to 10-24-when the correct tub would arrive
Mrs*** informed us she wasn't going to pay us for her second bath system when we completed the project so we had to take her out of the schedule until she was willing to agree to pay us on the completion of that project

We have offered to come out and redo the pluming fixtures any way she would like itAlthough when we offered to do that she rejected the offer and said she wanted a full refund
Mrs*** is being unreasonable and for her to ask for a full refund is totally out of the question
As for the width of the shower she was told we were going to make the shower "as wide as possible" and it was increase 6" more than the original tub and that is as wide as it can be made and still be within code requirements
So we are willing to do the following steps to resolve this issue with Mrs***
Schedule a date to install her additional plumbing diverter valve to add a 2nd shower head( She may need to have the shower door removed by her shower door company, if it has been installed already?)
If Mrs*** obtains engineering and code approval to cut through the support framing to make it possible to move the drain over an additional 4-inches, we can reinstall the shower baseCutting thru support beams is not recommended or up to codeSo if she wants to do that she will need to get it approved by her local building department(It clearly states on our written agreement with all our customers, that the home owner is responsible for the permit and costs of the permit.) We will pick up the permit and schedule inspections with the building department but as stated in our work order it is the responsibility of the home owner to pay these costsIt would take a engineer to design the structural changes and those costs will be on the home owner and the home owner will need to hire a company that is qualified to do those changes. We will then re install our shower system
The bottom line is Mrs*** had a different expectation of how wide she wanted her shower and if it was a matter of making it to a specific size she should have had us write down on the work order that exact finished width and not have assumed it would be? There is no way of knowing what type of restrictions and challenges are involved until the existing system is removed and then knowing what restrictions are dictating that maximum widthShe pointed out that she never took the time to see how wide the shower was going to be and then waited for the completed system to voice her concerns
We have already refunded her entire down payment of the 2nd bath system and have incurred material and delivery cost of that project
The shower is exactly what she ordered and it is warranted for life, she may think she should get it for free because she thought it would be 4" wider, so I'm not sure what to say but we are not going to refund her money
Please let us know how she would like to proceed and we will reschedule her for the changes
Thanks,

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
I apologize I mixed up the names [redacted] and [redacted].  I have never met the owner, [redacted], as his wife negotiated the contract and subcontractors came to complete the shower installation.

As [redacted] was aware,  I was 7 months pregnant at the time of the shower install.  My pregnancy was the reason I was not checking in periodically on the install as I did not want to be around the dust and construction.  I want to make this very clear, I was not aware the shower was not the width I requested until it was completed because I did not check on the subcontractors periodically not because I waited for them to finish to notify [redacted].

I believe that there was a miscommunication between what I requested with [redacted] and what was relayed to [redacted].  [redacted] can state that I "should have" requested the width be written on the contract but the shower head was clearly written on the contract and was not correct.

I am not comfortable with [redacted] or his subcontractors coming to my home to correct their errors as [redacted] stated in October 2016 he would contact me early November to schedule the corrections and I did not receive any phone calls, emails or text messages from [redacted] or [redacted], yet I paid for the job in full.  I have only received communication through this complaint.  I do not have confidence in the job being completed correctly.  I also feel if there are any issues, I can contact [redacted] if I want but I will probably not receive as response as he as shown me so far.

We contracted to do two separate bath systems for [redacted] on 9-13-16.
We installed the first system on 10-11-16, the shower in their master bathroom, we installed it to our written agreement #[redacted].
For some reason after the entire shower was installed and paid for in full, Mrs....

[redacted] decided to call us and tell us she wasn't happy with the width of her shower?

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The extended shower was discussed with [redacted] on 09/13/16. I did not check on the work being done while the shower was being installed because I assumed the shower would be completed as discussed with [redacted]. The incorrect shower head was installed but I did not discuss this with the installer as I felt the issue needed to be discussed with the owner of the business. I paid for the job in full after completion even though I was not satisfied. I was in contact with [redacted] and [redacted] as soon as the installers completed the first shower. [redacted] offered to come out to remove the existing shower head that was incorrect and install the correct shower head but stated that the extended shower would cost an additional $3,000 due to the plumbing that was involved. I tried to resolve this issue with [redacted] but he stated he was out of town and would not be back in town until November 5th. I have yet to receive any type of communication after October 28th. The contract does state the exact model of the shower head that has not been installed but yet I have paid for the job in full. I would like to request a full refund as this business has not completed their end of the contract and it has been almost 2 months and I have been contacted by the business to resolve the issue.
Sincerely,[redacted]
