This...

complaint is also due to that cyber-attack.Some of our customers have informed us of being called by scammers who illegally gained our customer information and are trying to scam our customers by pretending to be calling from our company and try to gain customers computer access or personal financial information and try to get money from customer via [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] etc. This is not the practice of our business, nor do we request any of this type of information from any of our customers. Also, we have sent several e-mails and sent ALERT notices via USPS to our customers, detailing what we know of the scammers and also letting customers know it is not our company requesting this information. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I had responded earlier today and was satisfied with this refund to settle this issue.Thank you for your assistance in this matter.[redacted]

Dear Mr. Guerrero:Please inform the customer that the refund was made on June 8, 2015 and it takes up to 7 business days to post to their account. I have already provided the refund receipt and the transaction confirmation which shows the refund has been handled on our end. Also, our company did not call the customer claiming to have lost our license, we have had a problem with another company calling clients and claiming we have gone out of business so that in turn the other company can "steal" our clients. Usually we are able to clear up this matter quite easily. We are still in business and have not lost our license to operate.Thank you,Accounts Department TheBestPCDoctor.comfax:[redacted]

Review: They claim to fix your computer, but they put a secret file in your hard drive with all of your information, all of the information they have to fix your computer, and all of the programs they have you download in order for them to fix your computer. After your subscription with them expires, the file is somehow corrupt and your computer crashes again. We had a person claiming to be from their company call us and tell us there was an issue on their end and the computer was infected, they informed us that someone would be calling us back to walk us through fixing the computer and they would issue us a refund...total scam, we almost lost 940.00 of our money. After calling the P.C. Doctors they admitted that their system had be hacked and a lot of their customers information had been exposed. They said they could fix my computer that the scammers crashed after I refused to pay them, if I paid them another 149.00 fee, even tho this was their fault and they are probably responsible for crashing it in the first place and they had ineffective security in place on their end, they demanded I pay them again, and when I expressed my concern because I feel they should fix this issue, they got very rude, and refused to fix my computer because I would not pay them again even tho they knew exactly what the problem is with my computer. Coincidence???? I dont think so. Do not use this company....total scam, and we will have to replace the computer.Desired Settlement: They either need to fix the computer or replace it, we have tried to wipe it clean, we replaced the hard drive with no luck.

Review: On Oct. 10, 2014 I was contacted by The Best PC Doctor indicating I had several computer issues that they could fix as an official partner of Microsoft. I proceeded to let them continue. Basically, they did a remote takeover and then installed Malware Bites and CC Cleaner on my computer. (Which I have since learned were both free d/l). I was charged for this service $499.99 and told that I could cancel if I was not satisfied. On May 30th. I received a call and told that they could no longer provide this service and I was entitled to a total refund. The catch was that they needed to remotely connect to issue a cancellation form. I called Microsoft and the advised me that they were in no way partnered with them and I should not allow another Remote takeover. When [redacted] called back ###-###-#### I told him I would not allow another remote as per Microsoft. He refused the refund. I asked him to refund to my Credit Card as they already have the number. He refused.Desired Settlement: Refund of the entire amount of $499.99.

Review: In July 2014, [redacted] made an online purchase of [redacted] software from Best PC Doctors. [redacted] paid $249 to Best PC Doctors, using a bank card.

On February 9, 2016, [redacted] received a call from Best PC Doctors regrading a refund of his July 2014 purchase of [redacted] software. [redacted] spoke to [redacted] about a cash refund. [redacted] said the $249 refund was being made so Best PC Doctors could keep its license in China.

[redacted] told [redacted] that his Customer ID# is [redacted] and the refund ID# is [redacted]. [redacted] told [redacted] the refund the refund would come from [redacted]'s [redacted] account. To process the refund to [redacted], [redacted] allowed [redacted] to access his ** computer remotely. After accessing [redacted]'s computer remotely, [redacted] asked [redacted] for his bank account information. [redacted] refused to give [redacted] his bank account account information. [redacted] said he was a victim of Internet fraud in the past and no longer gives his bank account information to anyone online.

[redacted] told [redacted] he would lock [redacted]'s computer, making it impossible for [redacted] to access the Internet or any of his files without first entering a password that [redacted] would provide. [redacted] refused to give [redacted] his bank account information. [redacted] then ended the phone conversation with [redacted]. [redacted] turned off his computer.

After completing his phone call with [redacted] and turning off his computer, [redacted] turned on his ** computer and tried to access the Internet but his computer was locked. A message appeared on the screen asking for a password. To prevent Best PC Doctors from accessing his ** computer remotely, [redacted] deleted the [redacted] operating system and all files from his ** computer and turned off the computer. When [redacted] turned on his computer he could not access any of his files.Desired Settlement: I would like for Best Computer Doctors to unlock my computer. Subsequent to [redacted]'s phone conversation with [redacted] (Best PC Doctors), Best PC Doctors called [redacted]'s cell phone. [redacted] answered the call. Best PC Doctors said a $500 payment would have to be made to unlock [redacted]'s computer. [redacted] ended the phone conversation.

Review: Having worked with this group for the past several years, I found them to be most helpful, although expensive. However, when I tried to cancel my service, I received all kinds of grief and verbal abuse, yelling at me and generally being most unprofessional. This was a decision that was really none of their business, since I am the consumer.

In order to cancel, and after reading all of the Revdex.com reviews, I also was encouraged to go to online banking before they would issue a refund. I refused and they got angry and said that was the only way they would refund my money. I still refused and the guy said "he would kill my computer" and "Maam, I will mess with your credit card, as well."

In December 2015 they charged me $1500 for the following, in payments of $499.99. 1)Renewed Technical Support, 2)got all the Security Softwares, and 3)Driver Support for the computer...in their words.

Just to get out of this nightmare, I agreed to $299.99 refund. I do have supporting documents. They refused any higher refund, although I had just paid it in December. This was just February.

All I want is the refund agreed upon or more if possible. I know that I was mislead and I knew something was very wrong with the December charges.

I will not be treated like that by anyone and I will not be intimidated. They can use all the excuses they want about another company wanting to take over their customers, but they are, in fact, responsible and accountable to those people who have paid for a service. although questionable.

Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like a check for whatever funds could be reclaimed. I am having trouble sending supporting documents online, but will do so upon request.

Review: Had contacted them on May 8th. I paid over 299.99 for service and the service seem to have been performed well at the time. On 6/4/2015 they called to cantaqct me about refunding my money because they lost their license. I got suspisous when he wanted me to log onto my bank account online to refund my money. I said no way am I logging into my bank account, whle he was online with me. So he said he could use paypal. The converstation was going south still because he wanted me to still log into my bank account inside paypal. Then when I stated I would not he started cussing so I hung up. He returned the call saying he was going to lockup my computer. Which in fact he did damage it in some way I do not understand to what exent. I have two pieces of paper with some information I had kept from the original work done. I feel this is a scam to drain my bank account and am afraid they have important information from my computer. JUst now they managed to take back control of my computer, I had to unplug from the internet.Desired Settlement: I am also concerned others might get tqaken with this scam. They also have whatever information was on my computer they may use.
