We had started with KFF at the end of 2012, just before our babies turned Almost immediately after we started with KFF we had moved and changed bank accountsIn September of we were called and told that our agreement would be cancelled due to arrearsArrears that we had NO Knowledge aboutThe money was still coming out monthly, and everything looked to be on track in our bank statements When I called, these were arrears from years agoIN and beginning of 2013! We were just being called nowTherefore we have missed out on Government grants yearly until nowI am so unhappy that they didn't seem to contact us about thisThe money was there, and paid immediately to the company so that we could receive this years Government grant on the money that we have paid Customer Service blamed us on the phoneHow is it our fault when there was no contact from them to usNo phone call, nothing Needless to say I am bitter, and I feel trapped with KFF because we have put in so much money already

My family has been involved with Knowledge First Financial for the past 20+ years, and my brothers and I have all put money away with themUnfortunately, my family (as well as other Knowledge First customers that I have talked to) have had nothing but trouble trying to get funds (which I myself saved and put away) released so I may attend schoolI switched programs during second year, and because of this, I have been unable to receive ANY of my funds from them in the past few yearsThey first tried to tell me that my plan had been 'terminated' because I switched, meaning that they would keep the money that was intended for my educationI then spoke with another representative, who said that it is not possible to terminate a plan, and that the representative that I had been speaking to before was misinformedThey then requested that I send them documents (including transcripts and VOE's), proving that I attended/was attending school, which cost me money to request and mail to them, only to tell me that the documents were never received I am now on my third time sending them these documentsEach time, they claimed to have not received them, when I have mailed them directly to the company, and even had the documents emailed to themUnfortunately this has evolved into a legal matter involving lawyers, as they still will not release my funds I am not one to write a negative review of a company, however I feel the responsibility to warn others about the incompetency and sheer neglect of Knowledge First Financial There are many people in my boat who decide to switch to a program that is better suited for themI have thousands of dollars of my own money that I worked SO hard to save that they will not release to meI know I am not the only person who this has happened to, as I have talked to a few others who said that Knowledge First made them jump through so many hoops to get their funds that they gave up, and allowed Knowledge First to keep their fundsIf you want to deal with a company that will help you with your education plan and finances, I urge you to STAY AWAY from Knowledge First Financial!

Just to pass our experience with KFFWe had been saving monthly for our both kids with KFF since the kids were bornWhen it came to applying for releasing the founds ,the problems startedWe have to sent several maturity applications signed by colleges and Universities each year as well applications for EAP ( the government portion)The institution each year had a big issues to release the money*** They had always excuses ,that they didn't receive applications on time and they would release money in later of the year We have open accounts for our daughter , both at the same time .One account that we opened for our daughter had been cancelled by KFF after few months, with excuse ,that they didn't have information of her SIN #, which had been all sent to them with the first applicationsEven we have received conformation letter ,that they have received the SIN # and that they have all the information on file The second account had no issueHow is that possible?
They closed that account stopped, withdrawals from our bank and kept the depositsWhen we asked ,why they closed the account, they said they didn't have information of her SIN #,(even we received conformation letter of receiving the SIN#)
We had to pay each year our kids education from our personal founds first and hoping we would receive the payments from KFF in December ( most of the time) The amount of paperwork and communication was incredibleThe worst was ,when we complain that some money were missingThey said ,the CHQ had been mailed few years back ,but was not cashed, so they kept the money and put it in combined foundsUnfortunately we were not even aware of any CHQ that had been mailed to us, so obviously we couldn't cash itAgain lots of fitting and aggravation with KFF to get your money back never mind the EAP ( the government portion)
We would never do a financial investment and registered education plan with KFF again
We have another education registered plans with other institution and have no issues to receive the money on time ,practically in a matter of couple days of receiving the applicationOne year I have sent application by mail and Fax to both financial institution at the same day ,just to compare the timing of receiving money for the kids education*** release the money days after receiving the applications , The KFF after few another mailed and faxed application and phone calls, release the money moths later( in December)
I hope it will be good info for other parents, just be aware ,its not easy to get your money back from Knowledge First Financial

I have a KFF plan for my daughter, begun when she was an infant, and she is not 18 and off to university. We have over $30,000 in her plans. However, I have to pay the first half of her residence and first installment of her tuition before I can get a Verification of Enrollment form, and access a penny of my own money. This is on the order of $10,000 I have to come up with right now. KFF refuses to just send the money over to the educational institution of her choice. I have to pay, submit proof of that, and then wait weeks for my money to come to me. And it's not like she is going to [redacted] College. She is going to nursing at [redacted]. When it comes time to set up plans for my grandchildren, they will not be with KFF.

My family has been involved with Knowledge First Financial for the past 20+ years, and my brothers and I have all put money away with them. Unfortunately, my family (as well as other Knowledge First customers that I have talked to) have had nothing but trouble trying to get funds (which I myself saved and put away) released so I may attend school. I switched programs during second year, and because of this, I have been unable to receive ANY of my funds from them in the past few years. They first tried to tell me that my plan had been 'terminated' because I switched, meaning that they would keep the money that was intended for my education. I then spoke with another representative, who said that it is not possible to terminate a plan, and that the representative that I had been speaking to before was misinformed. They then requested that I send them documents (including transcripts and VOE's), proving that I attended/was attending school, which cost me money to request and mail to them, only to tell me that the documents were never received.

I am now on my third time sending them these documents. Each time, they claimed to have not received them, when I have mailed them directly to the company, and even had the documents emailed to them. Unfortunately this has evolved into a legal matter involving lawyers, as they still will not release my funds.

I am not one to write a negative review of a company, however I feel the responsibility to warn others about the incompetency and sheer neglect of Knowledge First Financial. There are many people in my boat who decide to switch to a program that is better suited for them. I have thousands of dollars of my own money that I worked SO hard to save that they will not release to me. I know I am not the only person who this has happened to, as I have talked to a few others who said that Knowledge First made them jump through so many hoops to get their funds that they gave up, and allowed Knowledge First to keep their funds. If you want to deal with a company that will help you with your education plan and finances, I urge you to STAY AWAY from Knowledge First Financial!

We had started with KFF at the end of 2012, just before our babies turned 1. Almost immediately after we started with KFF we had moved and changed bank accounts. In September of 2016 we were called and told that our agreement would be cancelled due to arrears. Arrears that we had NO Knowledge about. The money was still coming out monthly, and everything looked to be on track in our bank statements.
When I called, these were arrears from 4 years ago. IN 2012 and beginning of 2013! We were just being called now. Therefore we have missed out on Government grants yearly until now. I am so unhappy that they didn't seem to contact us about this. The money was there, and paid immediately to the company so that we could receive this years Government grant on the money that we have paid.
Customer Service blamed us on the phone. How is it our fault when there was no contact from them to us. No phone call, nothing.
Needless to say I am bitter, and I feel trapped with KFF because we have put in so much money already.
