Gave $1,000 deposit Cashed immediately. Multiple calls, promises, 3 install dates, NO INSTALL. EMPTY promises, stole our money! No where to be found!!
On June 20, 2020, *** (owner) of The Blind Shack gave an estimate for interior plantation shutters for our whole house. He required a deposit of $1000.00 and we paid it to him that day.

We were assured that we would have our shutters installed by the fourth of July holiday. Holiday came and passed, no call, shutters, nothing.

We reached out on the 6th of July, and told they would call back. Never called as we called repeatedly.

Finally got a date of Friday the 10th at 3:00 PM for a start to the install. Since we were told that this job would take 4+ hours, we told them that we would take off from work on Tuesday, July 14th. They agreed, and told us we would be their first appointment.

Tuesday the 14th came, no install. Called *** (owner) he said he was heading to the "plant" just be patient, he will get back to us.
After an hour he did call and said, "I don't know how to tell you this, BUT it must be done Friday"
I demanded a refund immediately.
*** begged me to allow him to do the install Friday July 17th at 9AM.
He said he would take my 2 days of lost wages off the bill, trust him it's worth it.
We allowed him the time he begged for.

Thursday July 16th, we placed MANY unanswered calls to The Blind Shack.
They were given until noon to reach out and CONFIRM our appointment. Unbelievably, they never reached out.

After MANY calls from both of us, we were finally able to leave a message. We let them know that our business relationship was now over. We want our money back and will file complaints accordingly.

On the off chance that this company was actually reputable, we took today, Friday July 17th off of work. Figured there was an off chance they would show up. Needless to say, they never called or showed up. Just for the sake of it, we called AGAIN while we were writing this complaint. Just voicemail.

We want our money back.

Desired Outcome

We expect a FULL and IMMEDIATE CASH REFUND of $1,000.00 We are NOT willing to discuss any other settlement.

The Blind Shack Response • Jul 20, 2020

This is a terrible accusation to say we stole anything we took a deposit it's only been a few weeks the shutters usually take 3 to 4 weeks but everything is taking even longer because of the Corona virus they need to understand this is a custom made item we will get it out shortly to them

More lies! We want our $1,000.00 refunded. Just as the many others have demanded. Criminal enterprise as seen in the NUMEROUS THEFT OF MONEY COMPLAINTS.

The Blind Shack Response • Jul 22, 2020

We tried several times to resolve this with this customer....we told them because of the virus products are running a couple days behind but they were not willing to wait...these window treatments were custom made

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
More lies and deceit!
This business will not accept phone calls from us. We have tried at least 50 times! Even after filing this complaint.

This business has NEVER reached out to us!

Enough of the lies. Track record of theft of monies and lack of services and/or product is as simple to see as the sun rising each day.

We want our money refunded in full, IMMEDIATELY!
Stop responding to all these complaints with your lies. Do the right thing and refund all of us customers that you criminally stole money from.

The Blind Shack Response • Aug 03, 2020

We have explained to them their shutters are ready and we are able to instal and they have rejected our pleas to complete the job...all orders are custom made for each individual home..we can set up instal date for Aug 7-14 which day is best

Customer Response • Aug 04, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As stated NUMEROUS times. This company of thieves has NEVER reached out To us... EXCEPT to come and steal our hard earned blue collar money.
Just as in the many other (15 last month) complaints, they only show up to steal your money and then become invisible.
We have reached out to law enforcement and advise all the others here to do the same. He will NOT get away with criminal activity on my hard earned money! Done!

The Blind Shack Response • Aug 04, 2020

I am not sure why these people are making false accusations stealing money is when someone comes and takes money and does not intend to do the job their shutters are ready and we would like to install them now.... I have repeated on here several times to them that we are ready to install their shutters and they refused to let us complete the job we are begging you to let us finish the job of these shutters that you ordered and you paid for half of them already

Customer Response • Aug 05, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As we repeatedly state in our complaint AND responses. This thief, has NEVER reached out to perform ANY work. He is simply playing to this response game. We have tried MANY times to reach out. Answering machine is full so we cannot leave a message.
HE has stolen from many people as you can clearly see by all the complaints. We want our money back. At this point in time the LEGAL PROCESS has begun moving forward. We will rally all his victims and he will PAY us all the money HE HAS STOLEN. Of course jail time is also an option according to our attorney.

The Blind Shack Response • Aug 05, 2020

Omce again they like to through derogatory names around instead of solving their issue..I have contacted my lawyer today because they are a using falsyy..slande.
Another false statement is our mailbox is full I get messages on a daily basis.
They are trying to get out of paying for their shutters.
They entered a contract to purchase..
But I will try to sell their shutters and give them a refund if they stop false a cjsations

Customer Response • Aug 06, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
More lies and deceit from a common thief. All these complaints about theft of money, from all these people and he says the claims are false? WOW, REFUND THE MONEY YOU HAVE STOLEN!
Does the Revdex.com not see that this company has been swindling customers out of hard LEGALLY earned money?

No show of services to install the plantation shutters and took deposit of $600.
I contacted Blind Shack on June 14th to get a quote for plantations shutters in my house. Per that phone call, he scheduled to come out on June 16th to measure and give an estimate. *** came promptly, gave a quote, and I accepted and paid him $600 cash for a deposit. He told me that the instal date wouldn't be u til like 2-3 weeks out looking at the first week of a July or early second week. As the week was approaching and I haven't heard from him by July 1st, I contacted him asking when the install would be done. He kept saying I'll call you back. Never did. I kept calling, he answered we had about 5 calls and finally last Thursday, I said I need to know a date and time for instal my schedule is busy. He said, okay what about next week which is now the week of the 14th. I said okay Monday, he said I'd rather do Thursday at 10:00. I said no problem. We discussed how long it takes for install he said two hours. Okay we'll now it's Thursday, July 16th and NO SHOW!!!!! No answer, I called 20 times!!!! Left messages asking when he would be here and no phone call back. He took my deposit and no services have been completed. His customer service is terrible!!!!!

Desired Outcome

I'm looking for the plantation shutters to be installed. If they can't then I'm requesting a refund of $600 that he took.

The Blind Shack Response • Aug 03, 2020

We are soory because of the virus all orders got backed up we can instal next week please call to schedule

Never fulfilled our order
We ordered and paid a deposit for blinds on January 15th. They made two excuses and now do not return calls.

Desired Outcome

A refund of my deposit

Salesman took our deposit but did not deliver and install shutters. He will not answer or return phone calls.
On May 21, 2020, *** took my deposit of $1140.00 for three sets of plantation shutters and gave me an installation date for June 4, 2020. He did not show up on that date. He set an appointment for June 26, 2020 but did not show up. He has cashed my check but will not answer phone calls or respond to voice messages. I have made multiple attempts to contact him. He did not provided an order number but did provide us with a receipt.

Desired Outcome

Ultimately, I would like the job finished promptly. However, since this business owner refuses to communicate with me, I would like a refund. I would like a refund.

Customer Response • Jul 14, 2020

Work has been satisfactory completed.

On 4-10-2020 I provided *** a deposit of $470 to deliver and install vertical blinds. Called several times and now no return calls or product.
On 4-10-2020 I provided *** a deposit of $470 to deliver and install vertical blinds. Called *** several times over the last couple of months and he provided goods reasons why he is having delivery issues. Currently when I call XXX-XXX-XXXX no one answers and no messageS are returned.

Desired Outcome

I fulfilled my part of the contract by providing the deposit he requested, and now expect *** to contact me with a date he plans to fulfill his portion of the contract.

The Blind Shack Response • Jul 13, 2020

His blinds We're a little delayed because of the virus they should all be ready this week

Customer Response • Jul 18, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
After filling a complaint with Revdex.com, Blind Shack contacted me and a time was setup for the installation and completed with no issues.

Window shade broke after only a few uses
Blind was ordered on 2/14/20. It was installed 4/1 after quite a delay, I reported it non-functional 3 weeks later (once I was back home). *** finally sent someone out on 5/13 after about 20 phone calls and 2 appointments never kept by them. Shade could not be fixed. It would take 3 weeks to get a new one in - it still isn't in. Every time I call *** can't even remember the problem which tells me he has LOTS of similar calls. Today, 6/23, his installer - scheduled for 10 am and "running 45 minutes behind" is still not there at 3PM. NO CALL from ***. He doesn't answer the phone and you cannot leave a message because their are so many the mailbox is full. Never met such an unprofessional company and I am so frustrated I have VISA holding payment. I would LOVE help getting this resolved. *** could not have less integrity. It's just a shame.

Desired Outcome

I would like *** to get this shade replaced. I would like him to set an appointment and keep it. I even called yesterday to confirm - and still they have not called me. He's just the most frustrating person. JUST FINISH THE JOB WITH FUNCTIONING PRODUCT.

The Blind Shack Response • Jul 13, 2020

Please send us your address and phone number and we will fix this week

Customer Response • Jul 14, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have contacted *** repeatedly, provided him the address repeatedly, and he has set appointments to come out, but no one shows up. When we call to track the appointment, it is one excuse after another.

He was supposed to order a REPLACEMENT BLIND- this cannot be fixed according to his technician who came out to try. That REPLACEMENT BLIND should have been ordered and sitting in his inventory. That order would provide him with the address as well as make obvious the work to be completed!

*** never knows what I'm talking about, doesn't know my name, address, or what he's supposed to be doing. Now he just doesn't answer his phone at all and you cannot leave a message. He is, unfortunately, reliably unprofessional and untruthful.

If he is sincere, he can contact me, at XXX-XXX-XXXX and set another appointment to REPLACE the blind. Likely it has not even been ordered so he will need to look at his records to determine the size, get it ordered, and reach out to me to finish this job that goes back to February 14th!

One of the blinds was not installed correctly and needs to be fixed. Another blind wasn't properly measured so it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.
The blackout blinds we purchased January 21, 2020 were not installed properly and/or they weren't measured properly therefore they don't cover the door and the window and allow far too much light in. One blind needs to be re-adjusted properly and the other needs to either be re-hung or remeasured for a wider bling to cover the glass in the door properly. I've made two appointments with *** who was the original sales person who came to our home to do the original measurements, he was a no-show for the second time. After several more calls and left messages there is no reply. After reading a number of terrible reviews of him doing this to numerous other people, it appears as though now I am being taken advantage of. There is no invoice number

Desired Outcome

We paid for three blackout shades in our master bedroom and we would like for them to fix all three of the blinds that were installed. They are non-functional since one blind is too narrow for the glass door and lets in too much light, one wasn't hung properly also letting in too much light, and the other is too narrow and needs inserts installed in the sides of the window for the shades to be inserted into to help block out the light. In addition, part of the installation included affixing the electric wires to the wall which immediately came off the wall taking a chunk of paint and small part of the wall with it.

The Blind Shack Response • Jun 11, 2020

If there any shades of need to re be repaired we would always take care of that I am not familiar with this customer I would like to know when these were installed and when they reached out for repairs

Customer Response • Jun 11, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I set up two different appointments (June 3, 2020 and June 10, 2020) with *** at Blind Shack and he did not show up for either of them, as previously explained. The purpose of the appointment was to address the issues with 3 of the installed blinds (installed incorrectly, improperly measured and therefore do not do the job we paid them for, rendering the blinds useless) and then potentially purchase 2 motors for the other two blinds to convert them to electric blinds, and also measure for a new blind on our sliding glass door. I called several times to find out why *** didn't show up for our two appointments and there has been no reply to my multiple v-mails or text.

The Blind Shack Response • Jun 12, 2020

I looked up the paperwork from this customer this was a job that was done over 6 months ago and everything was complete we could not get her to do a final payment... We just want to clear up her old contract and then we can work with her on any new blind she would like

Customer Response • Jun 12, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Jan. 21, 2020 *** from Blindshack came to our home to provide a bid. We offered to pay half of the cost up front that day before any work was done which we did in the amount of $1335.
Feb. 27, 2020 The installers came to install 6 different shades. The guest room and living room had minimal issuesaside from the installer making a hole in our wall trying to Spackle it which made it look worse. The bigger problems were with the 3 shades in the master bedroom that were installed incorrectly, improperly measured and therefore do not do the job we paid them for, rendering the blinds useless. Even with all of the problems, and them not completing the work, we, in good faith paid an additional $900 even though the work was not finished, some of which was incorrectly measured and ill fitting.
Feb 27, 2020 Blind Shack promised they would come back and fix the multiple problems at which time the rest of the payment would be made once the installation was completed and all of the problems fixed, which they agreed to. I waited for them to come back and then Covid -19 came. I mention that because we were giving them the benefit of the doubt of not contacting us to set up an appointment during the Covid-19 shutdown. As businesses began to open up again I began contacting them again end of May and early June. As previously stated 2 appointments were made, June 3, 2020 and June 10, 202) with *** at Blind Shack and he did not show up for either of them. I called several times to find out why *** didn't show up for our two appointments and there has been no reply to my multiple v-mails or texts. I have tried multiple times to contact them via calling and texting. June 12, 2020 As of today there has been no effort by Blind Shack to contact me to come back and fix the problems and collect the balance. Even with all of their delays, not showing up for appointments, ignoring texts and v-mails we were still willing to give them additional business by purchasing two motors for the living room shades they previously installed, and purchasing additional shades for sliding glass door. We repeatedly communicated with them that we want to do business yet they never once made an effort to call us back or send a text to us or make any effort to fix the problems with the original unfinished installation.

The Blind Shack Response • Jun 16, 2020

Please let me know what blind is not working and we would take care of it right away

Customer Response • Jun 16, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Thank you for your reply.
We bought the blinds for the Master Bedroom because we were told they were black out shades and would block out the majority of light. They do not do that for various reasons as follows:
1) Blind covering Master BR glass door to the patio is too narrow and lets far too much light in on both sides. It may have to be re-cut to wider size?
2) Blinds covering the Master BR windows: both blinds let in too much light on the sides. The installer attempted to install massive heavy metal or plastic guides on the sides of the windows (not sure what to call them but the intention was to have the blinds go up and down inside of these 'guides' to help block out the light from the sides) but they were huge and extremely bulky and unattractive. We are not opposed to having 'guides' installed but not what they were attempting to doit would have looked ridiculous.
3) Blind covering one of the Master BR windows was reversed by the installer and because of that, far too much light is let in at the top. I would think if they put it back the way it was it wouldn't let in as much light at the top?
4) The living room shades are beautiful and we are very happy with them. But, the installer made a small hole in our wall by one of the shades he installed and attempted to repair it but made it look worse. I'm guessing a simple Spackle would help.
5) *** said he would have the installers replace the pully string on an existing set of blinds covering our LR glass door as a courtesy since we were buying so many shades. The installer didn't replace the string, he simply took a match to melt the broken ends together. It worked for two days and then broke again.

We would also like to purchase new blinds for another sliding glass door because we are happy with the two in the LR and the one in the guest bedroom.

Thank you

On April 1st, 2020 we signed a Contract with *** We gave a 50% down.
He has not provided the service. He already cashed $!,200 deposit.
We purchased a new home in Port St. Lucie. We called Blind Shack and *** came and measured windows at our house. He told us the amount and we gave him a check for $1,200 dollars on April 1st, 2020 which was a 50% deposit. He cashed the check on April 2nd, 2020. He told us he would call us in 2 weeks. At the end of the two weeks. He called and said he was in the hospital with covid 19 that was Saturday April 18th, 2020.He said he would call on Wednesday to set up the installment. He did not call. My husband reached him on Friday and he said they would come the following week. .It has been 2 weeks already. He has not contact us or answered our phone calls.

Desired Outcome

We would like for him to fulfill his contract. If he is not able to do it then refund our money so that we can contact another company.

The Blind Shack Response • May 13, 2020

I'm sorry we had to close for 3 weeks the state of Florida mandated us to close so we've been a little bit behind but we're catching up on everything now if the customer could call me so I could get their address I can schedule in install

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Job was finished in a proffesional manner. Thank
You Revdex.com for your mediation.

No delivery date in sight, sales person is not communicating with me, I have called repeatedly, nothing but excuses and promises when I reach him.
I ordered plantation shutters for 4 windows on March 10th with an estimated delivery date of two to three weeks. I contacted my sales person (owner??) *** who informed me that due to COVID the assembly facility was short staffed, probably looking at a week or two delay. Okay, I'll buy that. I have since called on 3/27, 4/14, 4/15 (and a couple times from another phone I don't have call records for). I have only gotten responses that seem meant to stall, more promises to install by certain dates that have come and gone twice with NO communication from ***. I was moving into my home just 5 days before *** came out to give me an estimate, I signed an agreement and gave him a deposit of almost $900. I have a copy of the cancelled check. No shutters. Not once has he called me to update me on the order.

Desired Outcome

I would ask that this be posted where anyone who considers doing business with The Blind Shack can see it. And any assistance with a refund would be appreciated.

Customer Response • May 26, 2020

My shutters were finally installed May 19th. They meet my expectations and the installation went smoothly. My complaint all
along was with the lack of communication from the owner and several missed deadlines.

Professional, friendly company and staff. Chris measured, gave us an estimate, ordered, and installed blinds for 11 windows and they look great. The Blind Shack provided timely, quality service and products at a reasonable price.

Excellent service! They accommodated each of our requests, even provided for free some of the items. I'm looking forward to doing business with them again and highly recommend them.

Loved working with The Blind Shack! They were so responsive and kind, and the blinds look beautiful!

Excellent service! They accommodated each of our requests, even provided for free some of the items. I'm looking forward to doing business with The Blind Shack again and highly recommend them.

Our experience with The Blind Shack was excellent. We were contacted promptly once we let them know we were interested in a consultation. The rep who came to our home was thorough and professional and extremely knowledgeable. We received our order more quickly than expected and once again, the installer was skilled and professional! I would highly recommend The Blind Shack!

I ordered plantation shutters with company representative, and were never installed on the mutually agreed upon date and time. Company was a no show.
I ordered plantation shutters on January 11,2020 with Blindshack representative, ***. These shutters were for a new home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. I had given him a 50% deposit ($4,086.50) via Visa Credit Card. We had agreed upon a mutually agreed upon date on February 24,2020 at 12n. NOBODY from the Blind Shack company had showed up on February 24,2020 to install our plantation shutters. We had never received any communication, (texts, phone calls or emails from *** stating if there was a problem. On this date, we had made several attempts to contact *** at the contact phone numbers listed on his business card. My wife and and I had made numerous phone calls and texts that day to *** but all we kept getting was a recording and left numerous voice mail messages. None of our phone calls or texts were returned by ***. I even sent numerous emails at address listed on ***'s business card (***@yahoo.com) but it they all bounced.

Desired Outcome

Full refund of our deposit $4,086.50 for services not rendered and product never delivered.

I contacted our Capital One Credit card company who had contacted this merchant *** from the Blind Schack about this dispute and to refund our $4,086.50 immediately and respond back to Capital One credit card company as soon as possible. The Capital One credit card company as of today still has not heard back from the merchant *** from the Blind Schack and have not received a credit back to them for the services never provided. Please have the merchant *** from the Blind Schack respond back to Capital One credit card company's dispute received on this matter as soon as possible and to refund the $4,086.50 money charged to us for services never rendered.

An excellent experience from the in home consultation to the installation. The consultant listened to our needs and was able to come up with several options from blinds and fabric options that fit with our decor, and the installation was highly professional, efficient and quick. We were so happy with the process we had them back to update the blinds in another room. Great local business!

WARNING I hired this company to replace my plantation shutters. They came out with the wrong products and said they would be returning with the correct items. This was in December. I've been calling for two weeks no one answers and no one calls me back.

Bought blinds from them. They worked out great! The price was very competitive and they gave us great design advice.

The shutters were delivered and installed in a timely fashion. The young man who installed the shutters did an excellent job. He was mannerly and worked professionally and quickly. All-in-all a positive experience. I would recommend this company to others without hesitation.

Save yourself the frustration of measuring and hanging blinds and call The Blind Shack! They are awesome! They came in, measured all of my windows and quoted me in the same day. A little more than a week later the blinds were installed and I couldn't be happier! They were everything I was looking for and the price was very reasonable!
