[redacted] Slimband schedules surgery on a FridayIf something goes wrong - as it did with my band - they are closed all weekendIn my case, the band slipped within hours of the surgery causing intense pain and the inability to even drink waterSlimband never made the follcare calls promised, and repeated calls to them were either ignored, went through to voicemail, or I was simply told to go to an ER I began vomiting continually, with it blood stained and the doctor at the first hospital I went to for care had no idea what to do to help and himself tried to get Slimband involvedThis resulted in me going to a second hospital, where one of Slimband's contracted surgeons, Dr Y., minimized what had happened and after a defill - sent me on my way, knowing I was driving to Montreal No ultrasound, no cat scan - nothing but the assurance that all was okayOn the way to Montreal I began vomiting again, with blood, but was convinced from Dr Ythat this was okay - that it would go awayThe next day, I was in agony and went to a hospital in MontrealThey saw how dire the situation was and sent me straight through to a doctorHe sent me for a cat scan where they saw that the band had slipped, a hiatus hernia was inflamed and above the band, and blood/gastric fluid was filling up the area above the band making it difficult for me to breathe He carried out a process to drain it (by putting a tube down my nose and into my chest) which caused a horrific reaction with me violently vomiting blood everywhereThey called for an ambulance to take me to Montreal General Hospital, which also did a variety of tests and determined that I needed emergency surgery to remove the bandThe surgeon was shocked at the treatment by Slimband, who he said should never have done the surgery in the first place due to the severe hiatus hernia and said that had I waited any longer for surgery, my stomach would start to become necrotic due to lack of blood flowThe end result - band removed three days after insertion, a huge amount of pain and trauma, lots of scars, and Slimband did absolutely nothing to either resolve the situation or even see if I was okayThey were made fully aware of the situation and not once did anyone call to check on me, they never apologized, they provided no help, and are refusing to provide a refundThis was my second band with Slimband, and the first also had complications (later on) for which they were fully aware and did nothing at allIn fact - they tried to delay giving me any responses in order to avoid the guarantee period and only agreed to the second band after I became angry and pointed out exactly what they were doing, along with documentation [redacted] **
