The Boat House Reviews (16)

Purchased a boat from the Boat House a month ago and after looking around at a few boat dealerships they seemed the most honest and really wanted my businessI looked into them online and here at yelp and found some bad reviewsOf course I brought all of it up to Bill our salesperson (who is a great guy and fun to deal with) and the owner ScottAt no point did they run away from the issues I had and as a business owner that shows character and integrity and I will do business with a company like that every timeScott took us out for a test run at an odd hour and when it was a little cold out without a hesitation when he didn't have toWhenever I called they answered the phone and Bill called me more than any other sales person making sure all was goodWhen I picked the boat up they found it was not cleaned to their liking and I said don't worry about it (I was going out to the lake anyway, that's why we live in AZ), but Mike (the Finance Guy) and Bill said no way and finished cleaning the boat right in front of usI have been out a few times to see if there would be any issues with the boat (I read a story here about boats not running properly) and I am really happy with the purchase and experience with the guys at The Boat House! I would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase or get work done to a boat

In response of the complaint by [redacted] we at Boat House LLC did file all of the correct paperwork and do the title and lien filing as per ADOT.I will include copies of the purchase order as well as the copy of Mr [redacted] registration showing him as the Registered Owner and SunWest Federal Credit Union as the lien holder.Boat House LLC will send Mr [redacted] a check in the amount of $for his troubles Thank You, [redacted]

Mr*** came into the Boat House and purchased a used trailer The customer was informed of multiple repairs that needed to be completed before the unit could be delivered, and was informed of the time line to complete those repairs Mr***, on the day of delivery, came into
the Boat House and found a few more items that needed to be addressed Boat House agreed to fix the items and to make up for the customer’s inconvenience offered to deliver the trailer to Mr***’s home the following day Upon delivery Mr*** inspected the trailer and all repairs and was satisfied Boat House and Mr*** were in agreement that if any issues arose during his first trip out then Boat House would agree to take care of those issues The customer was made aware that he would have to bring the trailer back to Boat House to address any concerns On several occasions Mr*** texted and called the Boat House and stated that he did not want to be inconvenienced by bringing the trailer back to the Boat House for repairs Unfortunately, this whole issue could have been avoided if the customer would have been willing to bring the trailer back to Boat House to be fixed In general dealerships do not fix items at customers’ home and do require them to bring their items in for work Mr *** was reimbursed by Boat House for the price of the parts he purchased which were $for a sound system (to replace current sound system) Note: The initial sound system that was in the trailer still worked and was supposed to be returned to Boat House, but Mr*** has not returned it The other item was $water pump Boat House agreed to pay for the parts on these items, but if the customer chose to replace them himself then Boat House would not pay for his labor Mr *** was issued a check for $from the Boat House and he chose to alter our check by circling the word “sound system” and adding “does not include” in the memo part of the check (see attached) prior to cashing it. Boat House likes to make all our customers happy and I am sorry that Mr*** did not feel he received good customer service Boat House was more than willing to fix the trailer for Mr***, but he did not bring it into our shop Mr*** claims he had many issues with the trailer, however Boat House was not able to assess those claims We went outside of our practices by reimbursing the customer for his parts

Hostess screamed, threatened and belittled my children and myself
12/- 5-pm - sat outside deck; largest group of that night for my daughters 10th birthday there were of usThree separate checks; 1-$78, 1-$68, 1-$
I reserved our table month in advance for my daughters 10th birthday; it so happened to fall on the night of the Christmas boat paradeMy initial phone call I was told they couldn't do reservations for that night but the last I talked to would talk to management and call me backShe called me back and said she could make an exception, that there was a hr max for our time due to the expected crowd but I was so grateful I told her no problem at all!
My name was incorrect on the reservations (confirmation calls finally fixed it) the food was terrible - my steak was sent back times and none of the kids finished there foodWaiter forgot everything we asked for at least once and was obviously drastically over worked so we didn't complain because he knocked

We ended up having a terrible experience with this business, The Boat House AZ We should have seen the red flags throughout the sales process, but continued to give a benefit of the doubt and move forward with them We had found a boat we were interested on purchasing on their websiteWe drove to the dealer location and walked through the boat with Salesman *** We agreed to let them submit our information for financing *RED FLAG* they hand-wrote our fully unmasked credit card number on a piece of paper for a good faith deposit and making photo copies for the file (they are completely non-PCI compliant) They also hand wrote our loan application with all of our personal information and social security numbers, etcand made copies All the paperwork throughout the process was hand-written and copied and placed in a file folderThey never did run our credit card for the deposit, thank goodness We gave them the information on our existing boat and they gave us the travalue that we all agreed to They did this without even looking at our boat They mapped out all the numbers on another piece paper showing the total amount we would need to finance minus the trade value they were giving us We signed the agreed deal and so did the salesman *** We ended up setting up our account at the bank we got financed through, but salesman *** still had not sent over the final paperwork they needed to complete the loan In the meantime, we had dropped our trade at their dealership and agreed to pay out of pocket for additional upholstery repair needed once they gave us a quote in order to keep the agreed trade amount Another week went by and then salesman *** would not give us the new boat trailer VIN so we could get the insurance set up to finalize the loanAnd he still had not sent over the final paperwork to the bank that was needed, as well Finally, weeks later from the first time we walked into the dealer and days before our scheduled lake test, salesman *** called to say the dealership was no longer accepting trades and they could not give us the amount for our trade we had initially agreed on anyways Just like that, weeks of our time had been wasted We went and picked up our original boat from their dealership and Salesman *** said he was embarrassed about how it all turned out This place does not operate like a professional dealership They are extremely unorganized and they have unethical business practices They violate consumer personal information in a variety of ways throughout their buying/financing process I would never recommend this dealer to anyone and would encourage others to seek out a legit marine dealership to take their business to

Purchased a boat from the Boat House a month ago and after looking around at a few boat dealerships they seemed the most honest and really wanted my business. I looked into them online and here at yelp and found some bad reviews. Of course I brought all of it up to Bill our salesperson (who is a great guy and fun to deal with) and the owner Scott. At no point did they run away from the issues I had and as a business owner that shows character and integrity and I will do business with a company like that every time. Scott took us out for a test run at an odd hour and when it was a little cold out without a hesitation when he didn't have to. Whenever I called they answered the phone and Bill called me more than any other sales person making sure all was good. When I picked the boat up they found it was not cleaned to their liking and I said don't worry about it (I was going out to the lake anyway, that's why we live in AZ), but Mike (the Finance Guy) and Bill said no way and finished cleaning the boat right in front of us. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The proprietor of The Boat House fails to mention the sound system has nothing to do with the repairs that needed to be performed on this unit. The sound system was to be part of the original features included in the unit package and also what the appraisal amount/collateral amount loaned by the finance company was based upon. This means I am paying interest on a borrowed value of which I have not received that full value. The Boat House had almost 4 weeks to perform ALL repairs. My family and I had made travel plans which we had to postpone the first time picking th unit up because these repairs were not made. Upon returning from that first leg of our trip, I requested the Boat House to send our the repair person as we needed to load our trailer for the next leg of our journey starting that following 2 days and did not have time to bring it in and then HOPE the items were repaired in time plus we had a lot to unload from 1st and reload for the 2nd. He refused servicing the unit at our residence to help us out and be prepared to leave almost immediately. NOT TO MENTION THAT AFTER NOT BEING CAPABLE OF THESE REPAIRS IN THE $ WEEKS HE HAD IT, WE LACKED ANY CONFIDENCE WE WOULD HAVE IT DONE AND NOT POSTPONED AS IT HAD TO BE OUR FIRST TRIP.  HE IS NOT 100% ACCURATE IN HIS RELATING THE FULL DETAILS. AND IS RIPPING US OFF!

We ended up having a terrible experience with this business, The Boat House AZ. We should have seen the red flags throughout the sales process, but continued to give a benefit of the doubt and move forward with them. We had found a boat we were interested on purchasing on their website. We drove to the dealer location and walked through the boat with Salesman [redacted]. We agreed to let them submit our information for financing *RED FLAG* they hand-wrote our fully unmasked credit card number on a piece of paper for a good faith deposit and making photo copies for the file (they are completely non-PCI compliant). They also hand wrote our loan application with all of our personal information and social security numbers, etc. and made copies. All the paperwork throughout the process was hand-written and copied and placed in a file folder. They never did run our credit card for the deposit, thank goodness. We gave them the information on our existing boat and they gave us the trade-in value that we all agreed to. They did this without even looking at our boat. They mapped out all the numbers on another piece paper showing the total amount we would need to finance minus the trade value they were giving us. We signed the agreed deal and so did the salesman [redacted]. We ended up setting up our account at the bank we got financed through, but salesman [redacted] still had not sent over the final paperwork they needed to complete the loan. In the meantime, we had dropped our trade at their dealership and agreed to pay out of pocket for additional upholstery repair needed once they gave us a quote in order to keep the agreed trade amount. Another week went by and then salesman [redacted] would not give us the new boat trailer VIN so we could get the insurance set up to finalize the loan. And he still had not sent over the final paperwork to the bank that was needed, as well. Finally, 3 weeks later from the first time we walked into the dealer and 2 days before our scheduled lake test, salesman [redacted] called to say the dealership was no longer accepting trades and they could not give us the amount for our trade we had initially agreed on anyways. Just like that, 3 weeks of our time had been wasted. We went and picked up our original boat from their dealership and Salesman [redacted] said he was embarrassed about how it all turned out. This place does not operate like a professional dealership. They are extremely unorganized and they have unethical business practices. They violate consumer personal information in a variety of ways throughout their buying/financing process. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone and would encourage others to seek out a legit marine dealership to take their business to.

Worst buying experience of my life! Lies and unfulfilled promises! Terrible customer service and even worse is the quality of work done by their shop. They really messed up the dash on a boat I bought from them while trying to repair stress cracks so they scheduled the work to be done at a different shop. They paid half of the bill, $2500.00 and then refused to pay the balance after the work was done. Don't believe anything the tell you and don't let them work on your boat! Better yet---jus avoid doing business with them!!
