On the 3rd of February, 2018, our group of visited The Bottleneck for a reservation for the Dineout Vancouver eventAt the end of the evening, the bill came to the table and we requested the server split the food bill evenly, and add each individual's beverages to their own billThe server had a credit card machine in hand, however left out of our sight with all of our credit cards to the back corner of the restaurantOn the receipt, there was a blank space to write tip % amount and to sign offThe next day on 4th of February, 2018, it was discovered that the server and The Bottleneck had automatically included a 20% gratuity without disclosing this information in writing or verballyThis practice is unethical as the amount agreed upon to be paid was not what was chargedIf a tip was already included without knowledge of the automatic 20% gratui
