January 18, 2018**and ***, nor any of their businesses are a current client of mine, they were clients in the past (Prior to 2015)I have attached the last correspondence in addition to the current correspondenceI have had no contact with him since and that was from his wife
about prior year tax returnsYou will also note that his return was uploaded, and he had access to itI have not prepared tax returns for them or any of their businesses for more than yearsWe are required by law to only keep years of past returns and are permitted to charge a fee for copies.Collecting information, preparing personal and business tax returns, payment and getting them both to sign is time consuming because of their separation and record keeping methodsAccording to IRS Circular our responsibility as tax preparers has increasedBecause of the conflicting information coming from these two people I requested to see all their bank statements and tax records, again I am required to verify questionable information*** has/had two businesses and what he claims on his tax returns and what he claims on social media is incongruent thus my need according to IRS Circular to verify income and expenses these taxpayers would be reportingWhen I sign the return, I am stating the information is correct and they have claimed all sources of income and expenses claimed were claimed in accordance with the current tax law.I bill at $an hour, which has been my rate for more than yearsIt will take time to retrieve his past returns thus the $for time, making copies and mailing feesI did offer him the option to go to the IRS for his transcripts as there is no fee for this service. With their separation I have tried to work with bothMoney is an issue for many couples even in good timesI have tried to be compassionate and understanding to both during this trying timeI am sorry that there is some type of rush now and I am in the tax season and won't drop my current clients to move him a head of the line. There is still a balance on their account in the amount of $due since 2014, I am also forwarding you all the invoices for my services to this couple and you will note payment has not always been on timeBecause of this it is my policy to ask clients for a retainer fee and this is common practice for AccountantsThey need years of past returns filedYou will also note my fees for past years and with current regulations (requiring me to verify claims on their tax returns, increases my time to prepare the personal and business returns) as I informed *** in the past emailMy billing is not out of the ordinary when you consider these facts.I am in great hopes the ***s resolve their conflictsI am not required to work with them, even though I did tryI am sorry this complaint has taken up our time but it is unfounded.Sincerely,Walter MAccountant

[redacted] has not been my client for over 3 years.  I moved my office 3 years ago, he doesn't even have the correct address.   He has an outstanding balance due.   I have given him information on how to obtain the information he needs from the IRS for free.  He does not have to use my services.   Refer to the documents presented and by his own admission he and his wife were given copies of the returns when they were prepared.   We charge $75 per year for additional copies which is common in our industry as well a receiving a retainer fee for services.   WALTER M[redacted], ACCOUNTANT www.TheBottomLineInc.netMember of:National Association of Tax Professionals, PA Chapter DirectorAnnual Filing Season Program

I am rejecting this response because:  His response is NOT TRUEThe IRS charges $50 a return, not free.  I obviously have the correct email address, cause I have been in communication with him.  He is operating in bad faith, when all I have asked for is a copy of my returns.  YES I was able to get 2014 overview, but nothing earlier and I need the company details in which I paid good money.  Finally I have already offered to settle any debt, yet I have received nothing.  I am not sure what the Revdex.com can do here, but any company not operating in good faith needs to be called out and noted for any future reference.Bottom Line (pun intended), he is a tax professional and not acting in good faith.  I have nothing further to say as the facts, and errors on his statements have already been called out and proven.  He makes generic claims with no valid background.  If he wishes to settle this matter, send me my detailed tax information which I have paid for.  This is a simple PDF which he has readily available.  Otherwise this complaint should remain active!Regards,
Christopher S[redacted]
