Review: June 4, 2015

I brought my truck into the shop on April 4, 2015. I was told the timing belt was “eating into the motor”, and the timing belt needed to be replaced. After he changed the timing belt, he stated he needed to fix other parts of the motor. He stated the total of the bill was $1900.00. He held the truck until I paid it off. I paid the last $630 on 6/2/15, and took the truck home. Within 24 hours, the same noise was happening, just like it was before I brought in in. The low pressure oil light came on, and the service engine light came on.

I brought the truck back on 6/3/15. He told me it sounded like the “bearings were shot” and that I needed an oil sensor to stop the low pressure light from being on. He also stated the oil pump wasn’t pumping oil to the motor. He ordered the oil sensor and put it on, that day. The oil pump was still not working.

He had showed me oil from my truck, which had particles in it. The particles were running through the engine, and this will cause the engine to seize. He should have drained all the oil and put new oil in, when he had put new parts in previously.

I had asked him for receipts/documents as to the work that he had done on my truck. He stated he doesn’t give customers any paperwork like that. The only documents I have is the receipts of some of the money I gave him on 4/3, 4/23, 4/28, 5/11, 5/14 (see copy). He then gave me a $1000 check and told me to go to a dealer and trade my truck in. He said my truck was going, and he would not repair it. I got half way home and the engine seized. I had to have my truck towed home, and it now longer runs. [redacted]Desired Settlement: To get my truck in working condition, or to replace the truck.
