The Brooklyn Company, Inc Reviews (6)

Review: I have had a magazine subscription with this company for approximately 6 months and have had three issues very late, I contact them at least twice a month. they basically say ok we will look into it and than I don't hear from anyone. I keep in contact with them by email [redacted] or by calling magazine customer service. I am still currently waiting for last months issue and contacted both [redacted] and [redacted] cs with no resolution.Desired Settlement: I love this magazine but I can't accept reading it two weeks to a month after everyone else, I would like my subscription canceled and refunded so I can try one of their competitors.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by The Brooklyn Company, Inc regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Have not heard from [redacted], I've just accepted the fact that it will always be late. So I won't be renewing my subscription.

Review: PAID FOR 1 YEAR SUBSCRIPTION ON 9/**/15 FOR $64.47. HAVE RECIEVED 1 ISSUE SINCE. NO CONTACT PHONE NUMBER. REPEATED EMAILS SENT. NO RESPONSES BACK. RECIEVED 1 RESPONSE 3 WEEKS AGO AFTER I CONTACTED THEM VIA [redacted]. STATED EMAIL KEN. KEN REPLIED STATED HADN'T BEEN PRINTED YET. STILL NO ISSUE. ON GOING COMPLAINTS ON AMAZON ABOUT RELATED ISSUES. THIS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS WITH THIS BUISNESS.Desired Settlement: REFUND. N THIS BUISNESS SHOULD B AUDITTED N WATCHED. I NO LONGER WANT PRODUCTS OR SERVICES FROM THIS COMPANY.

Review: I purchased a 10 issue subscription in February for Fangoria. I waited until May to contact them the first time in regards to not receiving a subscription. I was then told (without an apology) by the [redacted] that the next issue would be June. I've had subscriptions in the past where you receive the magazine several days before it hits news stands. June [redacted] I did not have my subscription so I contacted them demanding an immediate refund. I was told it was processed, but that it would take up to 4 weeks to receive. I replied back to process it faster, knowing that credit card refunds only take 2-3 business days. I was not happy that I didn't receive an apology then either, and this was all from the [redacted]. I forwarded the emails to the editor in chief, and did not receive a response. I then emailed yesterday asking them to forward the emails to the [redacted], [redacted]. Still no response. This is not the way to handle a business where, me the consumer, pays for a service that I do not receive, and do not get an apology for. I had to email in regards to find out what the delay was. I received no communication that the April issue was held up, and that June would be the next issue. When the refund was said to be processed, I still have not received a first issue.Desired Settlement: I want my refund as promised. I would have loved to get my magazine as I ordered it, but the [redacted] seems to not care, so why should I? It does not take this long to process a credit card refund. You have had my money since February.

Review: I purchased a subscription to Fangoria magazine on May [redacted] as part of a sale. Advertised at the time was the fact my first issue would arrive within 4-6 weeks. Three months later, I still have not received an issue or had my subscription honored.Desired Settlement: First and foremost, I want my first issue to be delivered to me asap, and to have each issue arrive in a timely manner of no more than a month between issues.

Second, given that it has been three months since I gave them my money, which is far too long for a magazine to not deliver service, I would appreciate receiving a full refund and my subscription to be comped as an act of goodwill.

Review: I subscribed to the magazine Fangoria back in October and have been receiving my issues very late. I have called and emailed several people asked for a refund and offered to pay more to receive my magazines. They always have an excuse and have never resolved the problem. Three issues were missed and not sent until I contacted them each time. I told them I would be filing with the Revdex.com. Every month now they dont mail the issue and I have to ask them to send it.Desired Settlement: I have asked them to discontinue the subscription I currently have and for some sort of explanation about why my issues have not been sent. They have not responded and its been over a week and I have contacted them three times now. I don't know what else to do or who to contact. I'm tired of waiting over a month and then having to call and ask them to send a magazine I am paying to get. I'd rather not worry about it anymore.

Response:

[redacted] I have spoken with the business and we have agreed to cancel my subscription. They just kept using excuses as to why I only receive them when I ask for them. They are not refunding any money or doing anything to help. I would rather not worry about dealing with them anymore. Thanks for trying to get in touch with them.

Sincerely,

Review: I ordered (2) T-shirts from the Fangoria store website. Was charged $41.54 on August **, 2015. I received an email that the order was accepted and given an order number ([redacted]). I contacted Fangoria customer service on [redacted] and was told by Jeanne R[redacted] that the shirts were on back order and she asked if I wanted to wait. I agreed to wait. On [redacted] I followed-up with another email asking if there was any news on my order. That email was ignored. I sent another email on [redacted] to inquire again about my order. That email was ignored.

On [redacted] I sent another email. This time I did some research and contacted Ken H[redacted], a customer service specialist for Fangoria. He responded, apologized and told me he would follow-up with Jeanne R[redacted]. I thanked him and waited for follow-up. On [redacted] I contacted Ken H[redacted] and Jeanne R[redacted] asking once again about the disposition of the order. That email was ignored.

I am now following up with the Revdex.com and the State Attorney General's office for some 3rd-party help resolving the issue.Desired Settlement: Delivery of T-shirts or full refund.
