The Bros Moving Reviews (3)

My wife and I hired [redacted] and his associate from The Bros Moving company through UHaul to help us load our truck for a move halfway across the country in June 2013. In preparation for the move, we rented 2 dozen furniture pads to be used to protect our belongings. In the loading process, they only used about 10 pads. Additionally as they were moving our furniture, they used adhesive tape on several of our pieces of wood furniture. The drive was very uneventful and we did it over the course of 2 days so that we could take our time. When we arrived at our destination, we had professional movers unload the truck which went smoothly. We found that there were several deep scratches in our furniture and the adhesive tape stripped the paint/finish off of our furniture. I contacted [redacted] and he did not take any responsibility for this. He stated that he packed the furniture well and there was no way that anything could have shifted or rubbed. He also stated that it wasn't his fault that the tape took the finish off of our furniture. He basically blew me off until I filed a complaint with UHaul. Once UHaul suspended him, [redacted] called me several times asking me to call UHaul to have his company reinstated. After several weeks of negotiation, we finally came to an agreement where he said he would pay for the damages if I talked to UHaul on his behalf. I did call UHaul to get his company reinstated in good faith that he would hold up his end of the deal. But he did not. He also said he would hire a furniture appraiser to evaluate the damage. In the end, I ended up hiring my own appraiser and paying for it out of my own pocket. [redacted] said he would pay what we agreed upon in installments. I sent him the appraisal and now [redacted] is blowing me off again. It has now been over 4 months since the move.Product_Or_Service: Moving servicesOrder_Number: UHaul job number JB-Desired SettlementI want what [redacted] had promised me. We had agreed that he would pay for the appraisal cost as well as the damages. This totals $395 which [redacted] said he would pay me in 4 installments over the course of a month.Business Response Mr wu ordered my services for a 2 man crew for 3 hours to pack a 14 ft uhaul truck and load a car on a car dolly and hooked it to the truck in the mean time while in transit to his new house 1100 miles away some of his furniture was lightly scratched we have had an insurance adjuster apraise the damages witch cost $130 just for the appraisal and damages equaled $270 me and [redacted] have agreed upon $100 a week for a month and the problem is resolvedFinal Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have not received any money yet despite the agreement. This issue is not resolved until I have received the full reimbursement in full.

Contractual agreement through[redacted]com to move furniture. They never showed up and ignored repeated attempts to contact.Bros Moving XXX-XXX-XXXX was under contractual agreement through [redacted].com (powered by[redacted]) to provide moving assistance, two movers for two hours, at the address of [redacted] Springfield, Mass for a charge of $123.95. At approx 11am they contacted me to state they were a crew short and would be showing up one hour late (2:30PM). I agreed to the time change. At 3pm I attempted to contact them via cell phone provided but no answer. I left a message stating the time, address and the fact they were an hour late and we were ready to move up to the apartment. No less than 25 more attempts were made to contact this company with no answers. They ignored phone calls and repeated contact attempts until such time as their voice mailbox became full. After moving in what we could physically do ourselves, my daughter and her room mate were forced to hire the only moving company they could get in touch with at 6:30pm on a Saturday Evening. That company agreed to take the job for Sunday at 10am. The new movers showed up on time and completed the move without incident. The new movers, due to the last minute nature of the job and their location, cost $625. The failure of the moving company to provide services agreed caused us to not have any quality time with our daughter before leaving her at her new apartment as we are moving back to the west coast this week. This caused us to have to return to Springfield, Mass from Manchester, NH (225miles Round Trip + $50 gas) to spend time with our daughter and make sure she was settled in her apartment properly. The lack of help caused us an unbelievable amount of stress and physical hardship coupled with other incurred costs which would have not been incurred from them not showing up. This company, if they have one, should loose it's business license as a result of this incident. [redacted] and [redacted].com have and will be contacted to help rectify this situation.Desired SettlementThis mover should be responsible to refund the complete cost of the new movers of $625 plus the extra incurred charges of $50 in gas and the standard accepted federal mileage rate of .556/mi (225x.556=$121.10) for total reimbursement of $810.00. No additional request for monetary reimbursement will be requested for pain and suffering in this case should the full $810 be agreed to be refunded. Should Bros Moving choose to ignore the request, as they did our repeated phone calls, we will be seeking any and all damages in court for the full amount of the charges with any and all included charges allowable by law. An attorney will be contacted this week by my daughter do discuss this matter to prepare for a negative response by Bros Moving.

Through fraudulent misrepresentation or negligence, Mr. [redacted] obtained payment from me for services which he ultimately did not render. In June 2014, I contracted, via [redacted].com, to receive moving services on August 8 from [redacted], d/b/a "The Bros Moving." By Mr. [redacted]'s own admission (which I have in writing), he did not render those services. As is [redacted].com's policy, I tendered payment upon making my reservation, to be held in escrow until services were rendered (as evidenced by the tendering of a payment code to the mover). Through either negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation, Mr. [redacted] or one of his employees procured my payment code from me over the phone on July 11, on the pretext that he needed the code in order to change the time of the moving services. Unbeknownst to me, at that time, Mr. [redacted] received full payment - $225.On August 8, the date of my scheduled move, Mr. [redacted] was nowhere to be found. I called him several times and left several messages, to no avail. I then initiated [redacted].com's dispute resolution process. Mr. [redacted] replied the same day, writing:"[redacted] this is [redacted] from the brothers moving out of Worcester ma I apologize 100% me and my crew of 8 guys missed our flight from north Carolina to Massachusetts so we are stranded out here untill tomorrow afternoon if services anr still needed we can take care of you sunday anytime and or get a full refund back on your card on your order please contact me asap [redacted]@yahoo.com sorry for the inconvenience [redacted] from the brothers moving."As a result of Mr. [redacted]'s breach of contract, I was forced to pay extra to hire movers to come at the last minute. I have heard nothing from Mr. [redacted] since August 8 though I have made several attempts to contact him, and I have not received a refund.Desired SettlementI would be willing to accept a full and prompt refund to save me the hassle of litigation.
