Hello,Yes ma’am we did receive the complaint regarding  [redacted], Unfortunately we are under new management as of Dec 23, 2016 office, management company and owners.Thank you!

Review: My sister and I gave my mother a surprise 60th birthday party at The Brownstone on June 1, 2013. Upon booking the party we were told that the room would be available at 11:45AM to prepare for the party which was at 1:30PM. I arrived at 11:45 and was taken back at how extremely hot the room was. I spoke with employees who were setting up the room and was told to speak to [redacted] whom I did and was told he was working on it. I would inquire about the heat in the room every so often and was told the same. I was also told by [redacted] that this was an issue with all the rooms upstairs (I found this to be false information because I stepped into the other two rooms that had parties and they both had air). After about an hour I asked to speak to a manager and was told they would be up but no one ever came.

Because it was a surprise party we asked our guest to arrive at 1:00PM. When our guest began to arrive my sister and I went downstairs to speak to the manager who was suppose to come up stairs. We were told that [redacted] the owner was in his office and proceeded to speak with him. I explained that the air was not working when I arrived at 11:45 and it was extremely hot (the record temperature for June 1 was 90degrees) and it was extremely uncomfortable for myself and the guest. To my absolute horror I was shocked when [redacted]'s response to my complaint was that we weren't suppose to be in the room until 1:30 and that he would bring a fan up. Explaining to someone with such an unprofessional attitude would have been pointless because it was clear that he truly didn't care about his customers. I have never had such an experience.

After the party I was told by a friend to speak to [redacted] who held a more compassionate and professional view than [redacted]. He didn't want to refund any portion of the party back but offered to give my mother another party in the next few weeks. I almost felt compelled to accept because maybe it would have been better then losing money.Desired Settlement: As I previously said I almost felt compelled to take what ever was offered to me but because of the horrible experience with both the extreme heat and the nasty attitude of [redacted] neither me or my sister would like to have any further dealings with the Brownstone. Neither did my mother want another party at The Brownstone. What I would like is partial refund. The party was a total of $1915.16. The Brownstone offers a catered hot buffet menu for $19.95pp X the 54 guest would be a total of $1077.30. The service from [redacted] was so horribly that a total refund could be justified but I'd accept a refund of $837.86 the difference. For [redacted] to think it's o.k. to treat his customers the way he did shouldn't have to be tolerated. Had I've known of his attitude prior to my booking a party I most definitely would've taken my business else where.
