p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545} According to our records Mr. [redacted] and his family were kind enough to work with the Inn on an overbooking issue.  This room was not charged to Mr. [redacted].  The rooms in question were rooms that Mr. [redacted]...

secured as part of his room block. However, they were never canceled by Mr. [redacted] nor was it asked of Mr. [redacted] to accommodate any over booking as they were not double booked.   When securing a room block with the Inn we ask our customers to sign a contract stating that they agree to cancel any rooms that have not yet been booked 30 days prior to check in.  Should they not be cancelled the customer is responsible for paying for the rooms.  Mr. [redacted] signed this contract and was aware of the policy.  The Inn called Mr. [redacted] 3 times to notify him that he had unbooked rooms and should consider releasing them.  On all 3 occasions Mr. [redacted] declined this offer.   Mr. [redacted] disputed this charge with our merchant services provider.  We provided them this same information and Visa upheld the charge.

I'm writing you in response to the notification I recently received from the Revdex.com in regards to case ID 11852006. Never received notification that the business replied to my initial compliant which is why there was no initial response on my end. Now that I've seen this response, I'd like to respond to some claims the business made. The business claims that we were not charged for accommodating the inn on the overbooking issue, however we were charged for the rooms. The Visa dispute the business references in the email is a dispute about this very charge. We did sign a contract in regards to the cancellation policy, however this agreement was modified when they asked us to work with them on the overbooking issue. And they failed to uphold their end of the modified agreement. We're currently in the middle of a dispute with the merchant services provider, it has not been settled yet as the business claims in their response. I've been issued a temporary credit for the charge until the business pays to send the dispute to Visa for arbitration. I apologize for my delay in corresponding with you, my hope is that this case can be re-openned and further investigated. Please let me know if there is any additional information that you require from me. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful holiday! Thanks,

The initial dispute that Alex filed has been settled.  His own bank sided with The Buxton Inn and held up the charge.  The money was deposited back into our account and remains there.  This is proven by the statement attached to our last message on World Pay letter head.  On Dec 21, 2016 Alex appealed to his bank to escalate his issue and is asking for this chargeback to be reopened. As of today, Jan 9, 2017, The Buxton Inn has received no notification that his bank has chosen to reopen the case and the funds are still in our account. Adriene

I've attached the additional information you requested for our complaint ID [redacted].I'm including this and wish to continue the complaint because the full process of our credit dispute hasn't come to an official close yet. As you can see in the letter, the merchant (The Buxton Inn) has the option to further contest this dispute and continue the process. For this reason, I'd like to continue the Revdex.com complaint until this is brought to a resolution. The Buxton Inn also has the option to acknowledge/confirm Capital One's ruling on this dispute which would bring and end to this process. If The Buxton Inn does agree with Capital One's ruling and ends the dispute process then we'll also gladly drop the Revdex.com complaint and any/all further actions on our end. Thanks again for your help coordinating this!
