The Camera Company

I took a Pentax Camera to The Camera Company because I was having a problem with specs of dust on the pictures. I left my camera for someone who came in to the shop & cleaned cameras. The dust was mostly removed, but one large piece of dust remained. A few weeks later, I had another problem--new batteries were incorrectly registering as depleted batteries. There was a quirk in that a set of old batteries were registering as half depleted, but new batteries didn't register at all. A salesman at The Camera Company told me this was an internal problem and they would have to send it back to Pentax for repair at a cost of $100 just to look at the camera. With repairs on top of that, I might as well think about purchasing a new camera for my upcoming trip. I asked about a local camera repair shop, BDC, and was told they went out of business. This was a lie -- BDC had relocated just 1/2 mile down the road. I took my camera to BDC and four days later it was repaired and works like new--at a cost of $75. Batteries now register as full and the spec of dust is gone!! I won't be going back to The Camera Company!!
