Dear Revdex.com Representative, I’m writing to you this morning to hopefully resolve a complaint (ID# [redacted] ) against my company, Total Rider, LLC, as submitted by MrJohn [redacted] on 3/14/ We take complaints re our company’s service very serious, as well as our Revdex.com rating, and therefore offer up an explanation to as why it took a protracted amount of time in responding to this issue.Along with Total Rider’s diligent efforts to work with Mr [redacted] through direct communication and email, we have further taken exception to our company’s policies and offered both a full refund and/or a class reschedule, to which we have received no reply In numerous circumstances, our staff has also explained that, as a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) school that must adhere to an exacting curriculum as governed by the Texas Deptof Public Safety, we are beholden to strict operational and safety procedures as to what standards students are expected to understand and demonstrate in order to complete the course and thus earn a certificate to obtain a street-legal “M” license We further go to illustrate to our students on the first day of class, that, street-riding is serious business with very serious risks, and while our Rider Coaches will do everything in their ability to instruct students to become safe, skilled motorcyclists, there are no guarantees that everyone will succeed and pass the course Most —if not all— students understand and accept this caveat as realistic fact (Total Rider has certified over 25,students since its inception in 2000) However, in rare occurrences, some folks choose not to accept this fact and seek to blame their lack of skill on our extremely well-vetted MSF instructors, as we see in this instance. You will find below an email re our latest attempt to resolve MrAlexander’s issues and satisfy his dispute, which again we have received no reply Please let me know what more I can offer to resolve this complaint, and I appreciate your time in this matter.Sincerely, [redacted] ---------- Forwarded message ----------From: Mindy Alford Date: Thu, Apr 13, at 11:AMSubject: Total Rider Follow UpTo: [email protected] John,I understand that you took the Basic Riders Course (BRC) on Friday evening, March 10th and failed to obtain a minimum passing score on your classroom knowledge test that is required by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas drivers licenses office, and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Due to not passing you were not permitted to continue training with the rest of the students who passed and were told to contact Total Rider for your options on rescheduling to classroom portionOn Monday, March 14th I tried to contact you and ended up speaking with your wife who explained to me that you did not like the fact that our Rider Coach asked you if English was your second languageI forwarded the call to our Program Manager who’s responsibility is to ensure that the curriculum is presented in the prescribed manner He explained to her the numerous regulations we are to strictly follow Since this is the Texas licensing exam we are only allowed to offer a re-test for a reading comprehension issue such as a language barrier This is the procedure for any Texas certified Rider Coach to ask a student if English was their second language and if so we could provide them a retest with a Spanish test and Spanish handbook at no additional cost to the student at that timeIt is also my understanding that you later spoke with the Program Manager in depth on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course curriculum and the importance on why it is taught the way it is and he also offered you an opportunity to come back and reschedule with a different instructor to include himselfAfter taking the classroom portion once; I forwarded the call to our Program Manager who’s responsibility is to ensure that the curriculum is presented in the prescribed manner.  He explained to her the numerous regulations we are to strictly follow.  Since this is the Texas licensing exam we are only allowed to offer a re-test for a reading comprehension issue such as a language barrier.  This is the procedure for any Texas certified Rider Coach to ask a student if English was their second language and if so we could provide them a retest with a Spanish test and Spanish handbook at no additional cost to the student at that time. It is also my understanding that you later spoke with the Program Manager in depth on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course curriculum and the importance on why it is taught the way it is and he also offered you an opportunity to come back and reschedule with a different instructor to include himself. After taking the classroom portion once; you do have a copy of the BRC Handbook to take home to study and whenever you are ready (no time restriction) to come back and try again.  In your confirmation email, you also have the link to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s online library that has a digital copy of the same workbook.  This was made available to you before coming to the classroom portion so you could study. As you know, based on our policy we offer a one-time hall pass to reschedule your course for $75 without having to book another seat in another class.  The Program Manager was willing to waive that fee for you as well to re-test and reschedule your Riding portion of the course at a total loss to Total Rider. It was made clear to us at that time you did not want to reschedule or take Jeff up on the opportunity to come back to Total Rider since you did not believe you could learn using the approved method of instruction despite being given the workbook and an online resource to study.  If a student decides the day of or decides to not take the course we are always willing to deduct $75 from the $235 and refund you the remainder of the money.  We certainly would like to know where you stand on this matter and if it is a refund you want for the riding portion we can offer you that.Thank you and have a great day!
