The BEST Real Estate Agent Training EVEr
This seminar should be MANDATORY for every real estate agent in California. THE CAREER COMPASS literally teaches HOW to be successful in the real estate industry, where CAR and NAR have completely abandoned their members. This company renews your license (via independent means) gives you the best training and you get to come back for life, for free! A one time super low fee to attend, then attend forever without additional cost. AMAZING.

This is in response to the complaint from *** *** in regard to THE CAREER COMPASS
This complaint is and inconsistent on all aspects. This is a customer who has simply fallen on difficult times in the real estate industry and now wants a refund on an event ticket that has never
been refundable. *** *** purchased a ticket to THE CAREER COMPASS Success Seminar which is similar if not the same as a ticket to any sporting event/seminar/show or other non-refundable venue or performance-based events. We will address his specific concerns below with his claims in BOLD and the response in non-bolded text:
About
a year ago *** *** visited our real estate office and made a
sales pitch for Career CompassShe falsely represented that the seminar
was often held in Napa, CA.
This is NOT false, we regularly have our seminar/event in Napa. We represented and stated clearly that the Napa seminar happens ONCE per year, no more, no less. Mr***'s claim that we misrepresented it as being "often" is unless "often" means once per year. This is how frequently we have always had the seminar.
Since Napa is only about minutes away
from my home
This is untrue. Mr***'s home is in Lower Lake CAwhich is minutes from Napa
I made the purchase based on her representation
Untrue simply on its face statement. There were no statements, we have the seminar in Napa once per year which is exactly what we represented to the customer
I
started to receive email listing dates and venues for upcoming seminars
Napa was never on the list
Untrue. We originally had Napa scheduled for the year for Feb 6-8. However, on August 24, 2014, Napa experienced an earthquake and make buildings and venues where we had planned on having the seminar were damaged and we deemed it unsafe and not professional to make this seminar a "maybe" or "to be determined." Thus, we immediately re-scheduled it for the same exact dates but at The Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco, minutes further south. We are still planning on having a seminar in Napa in 2015, however we feel it necessary to ensure the safety of all attendees that we wait until the venue location have had a thorough structural inspection.
I made several calls to Career Compass
asking when the seminar would be held in NapaIn each case I was told
that seminar dates and venues would be listed on their website as they
were scheduled
This is true, and we post seminar dates as they are booked and confirmed
Career Compass has never held a seminar in Napa since I
made the purchaseInstead, the majority of seminars are held in
southern California - hundreds of miles away from Napa
Each year we hold four (4) seminars in Northern California and six (6) in Southern California. This year will be no different and this is exactly what was represented and sold when Mr*** purchased his ticket(s). There is no misrepresentation of any kind
The closest
venue has been Sacramento - four hours away from my home
Four hours away? Mr***'s address is, according to Yahoo Maps, hour and minutes from Sacramento, only minutes further than Napa from his house. Perhaps he needs a new map. Or is he planning on walking to Sacramento? That would take four hours
Had I known
that no seminar would be held in Napa, I would never have made the
purchaseWhen I contacted Career Compass by email, I was told that my
request for a refund amounted to a threat and was both unprofessional
and illegal, and to never contact their organization again ( I have the
email conversation)
Mr*** purchased a non-refundable ticket that is good for and can be applied to ANY of our 10+ seminars in California per yearThe ticket NEVER expires and Mr*** is welcome to use his ticket as many times as he wishes at ANY seminar he wishes to use it at, for free, for life. He ready, understood and signed the legally binding California contract stating that he read the and understood that the ticket was non-refundable for any reason.
Career Compass is clearly unresponsive to consumer
complaints, and makes sales based on claims
Once again, no claims were ever made, insinuated or stated. Mr*** fully accepted the contract and the non-refundability of the ticket and still holds a valid ticket that can be used an any of our seminars including Napa Valley this year, Fisherman's Wharf, Sacramento, Santa Clara or any of the other seminars we will be holding this year, and beyond.
Mr***'s ticket is exactly the same as purchasing a ticket to an event such as the Super Bowl or the World Series. We are fairly sure he wouldnt complain to the Revdex.com if he had failed to attend these events. However, our ticket is still valid, making it even better than those events. His claim has no merit and no basis.
A NOTE TO THE Revdex.com: THE CAREER COMPASS has literally tens of thousands of members, like Mr*** who have purchased our product or services. And as of today, the number of complaint is still less than five (5) to the Revdex.com. Thus, we have a 99.9% customer satisfaction rating. The claim that we are unresponsive to customer complaints is unfounded and incorrect at best. In this case, as with every complaint we have fielded with the Revdex.com, the evidence to show wrong-doing on the part of THE CAREER COMPASS simply does NOT exist. Yet, the Revdex.com continues to side with the plaintiff's in these cases, even though the complaints have little or no merit or evidence to show their side. If the Revdex.com wants to halt or even slow the progression of people who no longer consider your reviews to have any credibility, and instead have gone to other resourced like Yelp and others, it behooves you to at least begin to take a fair and neutral stance on frivolous and merit-less claims, such as this one. If by any stretch of the imagination, the Revdex.com decides to print, side with, or let this particular frivolous claim stand on your website, then we no longer wish to receive any correspondence from your in regard to any complaint or question. We deem your service to be nothing more than a complaint forum for the indefensible whom no more have merit to their claim than they do logic to their arguments

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[I gave them authorization to bill only for myself. They asked if we knew anyone who may be interested in their services, I gave them two names. Wellington instructed us to write TBD in billing section. I took a snapshot of the form since they would not provide a receipt. On April 11, 2015 I received an email that they will refund me $198.00. I have never received my refund and can not reach a live person. On June 28, 2015 I received a email from a [redacted] they charged my card $99.00 for a third person! I have asked to speak with ANYONE at the company and not one return call. They will not offer a name in their emails who I am dealing with. There is something not right about  this company. At this point I dont know what else to do. I appreciate any help.

This person purchased a NON-REFUNDABLE ticket.  The attached contract states this clearly.  There has been on breach of contract on our part.  We are in full compliance with the LEGALLY binding contract within the California.  Any reducing or affecting of our Revdex.com rating is...

illegal within the State of California and any change of rating will result in litigation towards the Revdex.com and or the complainant. The Career Compass Inc.

This is a very simple matter.  The cardholder or customer in this case purchased a NON-refundable ticket.  They agreed to the non-refundability of the ticket, signed that they understood the non-refundability of the ticket and checked the appropriate box on the CONTRACT indicating that they accepted the non-refundability of the ticket.  This is no different than if they had purchased a ticket to the super bowl but were not happy with where the super bowl was played.  On top of this, we are planning a seminar in the Napa area, even though the contract does not mandate us to do so.  The complaint is without merit, nor legal grounds.  We deny the request for a refund.  To do otherwise would be violating the legal contract within the State of California.  The Revdex.com does NOT have our permission to print, publish or otherwise advertise this complaint as a valid grievance.[redacted]CEO & Managing PartnerTHE CAREER COMPASS

Our policies and contracts are IDENTICAL to any contract, purchase agreement, ticket or season ticket to a sporting even, concert or seminar.  The laws of California are very clear and very cut and dry in this regard.  We have a signed, legal, binding and appropriate contract with this customer where they agreed to the purchase, signed that they understood and agreed to the non-refund-ability of the tickets and checked a box indicating that they read, understood and agreed to the terms and provisions of the contract.  There is very little beyond this legally binding contract that we can do for this customer.  We are regulated by the State of California and we are not able to put our company's certification or licenses to do business in the state in jeopardy in order to change a legally binding contract due to the customer changing their mind or not understanding the contract they signed, agreed to and indicated they understood.  In the State of California, a written contract takes precedent over all verbal claims and disagreements.  We are sorry this customer is not satisfied, however we are operating under the very letter of the contract and we only ask the customer to do the same.  And again we do not expect this claim or complaint to be posted, referred to or used to lower or degrade our Revdex.com rating.  As to do so would be illegal in the State of California.  Thank you.

The response from The Career Compass fails to address the issue...1) In good faith I made a purchase based on a representation that seminar(s) would be held in Napa.2) Since I made the purchase over a year ago, no seminar(s) have been held in Napa.3) The Career Compass did not deliver services as agreed.3) Therefore, I requested, and continue to request, a full refund. These facts are undeniable. If The Career Compass fails to issue a full refund, I will seek a legal remedy. However, If I am mistaken and The Career Compass has held seminar(s) in Napa since the date of my original purchase, I would withdraw my complaint. I invite The Career Compass to share those dates (if any) with the Revdex.com.Thank you, for your assistance with this matter.Respectfully,[redacted]

Review: I went to a seminar in San Diego given by THE CAREER COMPASS. I considered, at the last minute to try their real estate related product and was the last person out of the seminar. The young lady - not the presenter of the seminar - had run out of contracts, but I was in a hurry as I had an urgent meeting in the restaurant below where the presentation was ....so I quickly wrote out a check and ran out to meet my client. During my meeting I mentioned the company - The Career Compass - and two individuals suggested perhaps it was not as good a program as it sounded. These individuals were professionals and I trusted their judgments. As soon as I got back to my home I attempted to telephone The Career Compass and cancel their program; however, their office was closed. I telephoned very early the next morning and explained to the young lady I didn't think I was suited for the program and to void my check. However, she had "slam dunked" my check the very day of the seminar (my bank is not is just down the street from the restaurant where the presentation was made). I told her I changed my mind and wanted a refund of my $195.00. Unfortunately, the person I believe is owner has adamantly refused to refund my $195. Currently, my bank is still attempting to recuperate my funds through the banking system. I have telephoned and emailed and spoken to the presentor - His name is Wellington (I don't know last name) and is adamantly refused numerous times to a refund. I checked with the California Association of Realtors; however, his company is not a member. Is there any assistance you can provide and if so, what will be my cost. As of this moment I have no funds as my monthly check does not come in for two weeks.Desired Settlement: A simple refund of my $195.00.

Business

Response:

The complaint and account of the transaction from the customer is categorically false. None of the actual documents, records, recordings or other information we possess supports any of her claims. Her complaint has no factual basis. This customer purchased a non-refundable ticket to a concert, seminar or sporting event. The laws regarding these contracts in the State of California are very clear and make no provision for refunds or other cancellations based on attendance or non-attendance of the event. A copy of the customers contract is attached and this customer fully accepted, signed and agreed to this contract in full. Thank you.
