Dear [redacted] ,Once again I am denying the ridiculous allegation that [redacted] 's vehicle was driven for more than the previously stated feetThere was absolutely zero need to drive a year old vehicle in EXTREME DISREPAIR for milesIn [redacted] 's most recent response she stated that the ONLY way to tell when it is time to refill the tank is by the odometer record that she keeps and she "would have ran out of gas very shortly along the rural roads"How could it possibly be known how far her vehicle would be able to travel, how much gas was in the tank, or when it could run out of gas by anyone other than her? Also, it is our policy to not charge for estimates when a verbal agreement is reached with our customers that the repairs will be made here [redacted] was given a hand written estimate in which I have a copy and a verbal agreement was made, which she has now backed out of due to her accusationHow convenient! I would also love to see another written quote for one of her family members or friends in which the work was not done as she claimsFinally, why would I risk losing several thousand dollars worth of work and have my reputation tarnished over dollars worth of gas? It makes no sense!!! I am extremely proud of our reputation and the trusting relationships that I have built with my customers over the years and I have absolutely nothing to hideThis accusation is absurd and again [redacted] is either mistaken or lyingSincerely,Marty W [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Sincerely, [redacted] Dear Ms***, Please be advised the below information written by me, is true to the best of my knowledge, and I attest and swear to it MrW [redacted] spent much of his paragraph explaining what was said prior to finding the mileage and gasoline missing. He stated that I failed to respond "Again" (never explaining what I failed to do the first time) in his paragraph, when I was told to "take my time" by his employee 'Mike' (regarding my decision on what work to do)I clarified, by saying "well, either way, you will hear from me by tomorrow" MrW [redacted] is assuming the position of the hurt party by saying he lost time and didn't charge me for the quotes, while in the past, my direct family members and friends, have Never been charged for a quote, when MrW [redacted] 's business did the work, or not There was no notice in his waiting area that explained charges will accrue for quotes The empty gas can that I had brought with me, when picking up the ***, was for my other car, which had not been running in some time, and it is a good thing I intended on getting gas for this car, or I would not have known MrW [redacted] left my [redacted] empty of gas By MrW [redacted] , stating I was mistaken or lying at the end of his letter, I felt even more desire to express my story and the experience I had with this business As you will see in your own data base, and, can check with any consumer protection service, that I have Never, Ever, made a complaint before, and because of the way this issue was handled by him, and responded to, by him, is all the more reason the public needs to know a out it The odometor works on my ***, and this is the Only way to tell when it's time to fill the gas tank I keep a record of the mileage each time I fill the tank I filled it at 7-11, the night before bringing it to his shop, just prior to going through it for anything I might need for work while the vehicle was at his shop, as he stated it would take a "day or two" to get quotes together, and check if parts are still available The day I picked up my ***, and went to the new gas station across the bridge, to fill the gas can, I instinctively looked at the mileage which had increased by over miles, at which time I thought to myself- this was impossible, unless it was used, in which case there would be gas missing- and there was: $in gas, that I had put in the night before bringing my [redacted] to his shop Had I not checked the gas by filling it after seeing the added mileage, I would have ran out of gas very shortly along the rural roads Right after filling my [redacted] again, and returning home, I called MrW [redacted] to explain what I found, and he denied using the vehicle or the gas, but added that he was 'apprehensive about working on it', because he was 'afraid a confrontation would happen' - never during any of the previous conversations that MrW [redacted] , or 'Mike' and I had, did they ever express this- they gave me quotes on what work they wanted to do, never saying they were not interested When I asked what he meant by this possible 'confrontation', he stated, "you know..if something else goes wrong with it, I just don't want to be responsible" which, once again, they did not express prior to me telling them about the missing gas and added miles

Dear [redacted] , [redacted] brought her car in for estimates on 10/for work that needed to be doneShe parked her [redacted] Grand Wagoneer in front of the shop and it was driven in (approxft.) later in the dayUpon examining the vehicle we noticed that an extensive amount of work needed to be done and the vehicle was running extremely poorlyThe vehicle had numerous mifires and vacuum leaks as well as the exhaust having large holes in it with almost half the muffler completely missingThe windshield gasket was torn causing a leak in the windshield and there were numerous electrical problems and more, but most importantly regarding this issue the gauges on the dash didn't work, including the fuel gauge! We also recommended a transmission flush based on her claim that her transmission was slippingWe left the vehicle in the shop overnight at her request because of the leaking windshieldWe called parts stores and the windshield repair company and put together a quote of between $and $depending on the work she wanted to do and how she wanted to go about itWe telephoned [redacted] the following morning (10/15) and asked her to come in so she could look at the vehicle and discuss the work in person, as it was way too much to explain over the phone, which she then didAfter discussing the issues with her in person she said she would go home and think about it and get back to me later that day [redacted] failed to respond again that day so we once again kept the vehicle insideIn the morning we pulled her vehicle forward so we could bring a vehicle in behind it [redacted] then showed up again during lunch on Thursday 10/and stated that she needed the vehicle, but she would bring it in the following week for some of the workAt this juncture [redacted] stated that she did not wish to do a transmission flush because she read that it could cause damage, she also stated that the exhaust NEEDED to be repaired because her lawn caught on fire when her running vehicle was parked on itWe then backed the vehicle out of the shop and noticed that [redacted] was carrying a gas can when she got in her vehicle and leftAbout an hour later she called and claimed that we had driven the vehicle for approximately miles which we vehemently denied as the vehicle never left the shop once it was brought in, thus driven only the initial feetIt is obvious that [redacted] is mistaken, we could not determine how much fuel was in the tank because of the faulty gauge so we wouldn't know if she brought it in with a full or near empty tank and the vehicle is in terrible running condition which can easily be determined by the amount of the quoteThere are also only two people that work in the shop, we have four vehicles that are here on dealer plates, and we would not have time to drive hers for the claimed milesIt should also be noted that we did not charge [redacted] anything for the estimates as we were under the assumption that the vehicle would have its work done here even though almost hours were spent looking at her vehicle and putting together the quote plus storing her vehicle inside for nightsHer complaint has absolutely no merit and if we did use the vehicle for any reason we would certainly have told her soWe will not pay her any amount because she is either mistaken or lying and we are insulted by the accusation.Sincerely, Marty W [redacted]

Dear [redacted],Once again I am denying the ridiculous allegation that [redacted]'s vehicle was driven for more than the previously stated 50 feet. Also, it is our policy to not charge for estimates when a verbal agreement is reached with our customers that the repairs will be made here. Dear [redacted] brought her car in for estimates on 10/14 for work that needed to be done. She parked her 1990 [redacted] Grand Wagoneer in front of the shop and it was driven in (approx. 50 ft.) later in the day. Upon examining the vehicle we noticed that an extensive amount...

of work needed to be done and the vehicle was running extremely poorly. The vehicle had numerous mifires and vacuum leaks as well as the exhaust having large holes in it with almost half the muffler completely missing. The windshield gasket was torn causing a leak in the windshield and there were numerous electrical problems and more, but most importantly regarding this issue the gauges on the dash didn't work, including the fuel gauge! We  also recommended a transmission flush based on her claim that her transmission was slipping. We left the vehicle in the shop overnight at her request because of the leaking windshield. We called parts stores and the windshield repair company and put together a quote of between $3450 and $4800 depending on the work she wanted to do and how she wanted to go about it. We telephoned [redacted] the following morning (10/15) and asked her to come in so she could look at the vehicle and discuss the work in person, as it was way too much to explain over the phone, which she then did. After discussing the issues with her in person she said she would go home and think about it and get back to me later that day. [redacted] failed to respond again that day so we once again kept the vehicle inside. In the morning we pulled her vehicle forward so we could bring a vehicle in behind it. [redacted] then showed up again during lunch on Thursday 10/16 and stated that she needed the vehicle, but she would bring it in the following week for some of the work. At this juncture [redacted] stated that she did not wish to do a transmission flush because she read that it could cause damage, she also stated that the exhaust NEEDED to be repaired because her lawn caught on fire when her running vehicle was parked on it. We then backed the vehicle out of the shop and noticed that [redacted] was carrying a gas can when she got in her vehicle and left. About an hour later she called and claimed that we had driven the vehicle for approximately 120 miles which we vehemently denied as the vehicle never left the shop once it was brought in, thus driven only the initial 50 feet. It is obvious that [redacted] is mistaken, we could not determine how much fuel was in the tank because of the faulty gauge so we wouldn't know if she brought it in with a full or near empty tank and the vehicle is in terrible running condition which can easily be determined by the amount of the quote. There are also only two people that work in the shop, we have four vehicles that are here on dealer plates, and we would not have time to drive hers for the claimed 109 miles. It should also be noted that we did not charge [redacted] anything for the estimates as we were under the assumption that the vehicle would have its work done here even though almost 2 hours were spent looking at her vehicle and putting together the quote plus storing her vehicle inside for 2 nights. Her complaint has absolutely no merit and if we did use the vehicle for any reason we would certainly have told her so. We will not pay her any amount because she is either mistaken or lying and we are insulted by the accusation.Sincerely,
Marty W[redacted]

Review: Sent my vehicle to them for a quote, with a Full Tank of gas, and 126,860miles on the Odometor. Received it back with No

Gas, and 126,969. That is 109 miles they put on the vehicle. The owner refuses to acknowledge using the vehicle, even for a test drive.

Also denies his son used the vehicle, and they parked it indoors over night. The mileage and gas don't disappear by themselves.Desired Settlement: Acknowledgement that the vehicle Was used by them, and a refund of the $28.90 in gas, that they ran out of the tank.
