The Chimney King

We hired Chimney King to rebuild our chimney and install a new fireplace insert. We have had problems with them not showing up on time, not showing up at all, they said they were going to use safety equipment when removing our existing chimney, but they did not. They just started cutting it down; which then caused a1000lbs + stone chimney to come falling down on our roof, sliding off destroying our gutter and come smashing down on our lawn. In their estimate they said demolition would cost $4200 and included safety equipment, and hauling off old chimney debris. They did not use safety equipment and 95% of the old chimney we helped dump on our property. So we wanted to discuss an adjustment to the cost. We were also told we had to pay 50% of the total project to have them start. Then pay the remaining 50% when complete. We paid them $10,000. Now they are requesting another $7100 dollars for the insert. When I asked if our $10,000 would cover the cost of the insert and they said it was not included. But they included it in the cost of the 50% we had to pay up front. So, they are asking for 80% of the estimate before project is complete. The quality of work has been subpar, causing new flooding in our house 3 times before they finally fixed it, siding is being put up poorly; it has gaps where water will leak in. Also, boards not nailed down completely. We have been requesting a sit down with the owner to discuss all our concerns but he is avoiding the discussion. He sent us a lengthy email that did not answer our actual questions so we want to meet with him. He has his office assistant respond to us by telling us only the owner can talk about finances and he will get back to us. She said previously he would contact us then he did not. Now she says he will within 48 hours, but we are not confident he will since he is not responding to text or email now. We have been trying to resolve the issue for about a month with no luck.
